What a bummer.

Look, there are a few good jokes in there that you totally forget about once you step out of the theater....🙄 😁

I find him quite enjoyable... He has a lot of clever bits. Plus, the guy is just genuinely hilarious...🙂 😁

All I can say is MAJOR RESPECT!! And KEEP IT REAL!!

But seriously, does anyone actually know who those models are at the end of the movie—you know, those gorgeous Black women 👍?

I'm looking for names, what else they've been in 😁 and all that good stuff

Honestly, the movie is just... you watch it and immediately forget it ever happened...

It’s not like you just forget about it immediately... man, those opening scenes with Tucker are wild—like when they're tearing his tracksuits apart, then cleaning him up, and then that old guy comes in to grease him up... there are so many other iconic moments too (like when he gets those congressmen wasted and when those two finally hook up).... That movie is absolutely legendary!!!! R3SP3CT!!!!

How was that even weird for you guys? That movie isn't nearly as shallow as people claim—it's definitely not one of those "watch once and forget" types of flicks.

Ali G is easily one of the most talented comedians working right now—anyone who’s actually sat down and watched his show knows exactly what I mean. Sure, some of his jokes lean into that lowbrow toilet humor, but the wit behind it is actually pretty sharp.

My take on this:

So, I caught the first episode of Ali G's show on NBC—it had a few decent laughs, but the rest was just a mess, honestly way too raunchy for my taste. I actually thought, "Hey, maybe it'll get better..." with every subsequent episode. But nope! After watching four in total, each one just felt even more pathetic, more explicit, stupider, and more recycled than the last...

Then, a friend of mine had a birthday, and she dragged us all out to see Ali G live on Broadway... I was literally texting people just to stay awake! People were absolutely losing it, dying of laughter at jokes like: "She's from Canada." And I’m sitting there thinking, "Man, Americans can be so shallow..." and then those same people go and vote for the Republican Party... okay, alright, maybe I'm exaggerating a little bit there...

Seriously, it was the worst movie experience I've ever had in a theater.

His movies? Honestly, they’re pretty mid. But those interviews... man, they’re gold.
I was watching Viva the other day and saw him grilling this former US General, basically suggesting they should drop a nuke on Canada and just bank on the element of surprise. I mean, seriously, given all the recent American military interventions lately?
That said, his sense of humor isn't shallow at all; he’s constantly dropping these subtle digs and leaning hard into really sensitive topics.
My gut feeling is that he’s just not a filmmaker—his real talent lies in a completely different medium.

Besides, you should probably check out his sketches where he plays Borat, that wandering reporter from Kazakhstan. That's hilarious!

btw the guy is actually highly educated—he went to Cambridge.

I don't think that's quite right.
There are plenty of different types of humor that only resonate with specific groups of people, which you might call "specialized" or niche humor. For instance, if you look at those classic cult comedy shows from the UK, certain jokes will only land with people who have the specific background knowledge to get them.
It’s a similar situation with Ali G's In Da House. His style of comedy is aimed at a very particular demographic—certain socio-cultural or age groups. So, if you haven't spent much time immersed in hip-hop culture, or if you never really connected with it, it's easy to see why some of Ali G's jokes might seem confusing or even silly to you, when in reality, they aren't necessarily bad; they just weren't designed for your specific audience.

I honestly can't decide what's funnier—watching him try to hold a conversation with those hunters and animal rights protesters, or seeing him wander into some fancy prep school... Honestly, Borat is just untouchable, to say the least. 🙂

btw one of my all-time favorite interviews is the one with that ER doctor: "So, you work in the ER... What character do you play?" 😁 🙏

Man, then there was that one time someone was sitting on a panel talking about drug harm reduction and they just dropped:
"sooo, when exactly is the best time 4 kids 2 start smoking weed?"

It was just another typical day, and honestly? This might actually be his best movie yet.

Say what you want, but this thing is just genuinely hilarious, fun, and most importantly, it feels totally fresh. It had me cracking up.

It’s way better than anything from Borat, who always felt a bit much for me, let alone anyone else.
