Sure, I mean, who knows where that $150,000 went? They could have shot it for $5,000 if they wanted. But honestly, the budget isn't even the point. I prefer walking into a theater knowing nothing about the producers or the cost—just pure experience. When I watched this, all I knew was that it had already crushed it at Sundance. I just let the movie take over, and man, it genuinely creeped me out. I kept thinking: this could happen to you, too, out in some remote part of the Midwest where there's nobody around to help, facing something terrifying that you can't see, but can definitely feel and hear.

I caught this one in theaters when it first dropped. I went in totally blind and was absolutely floored!
Back then, I was obsessed. Now? Not quite as much, but it’s still a solid watch...
I saw the sequel in the cinema too, but that was a different story entirely. Just a weak attempt at something...

Personally, I didn't even see an "attempt" here. To me, it just looked like a massive cash grab aimed at anyone gullible enough to buy a ticket.🤮

Some movies just don't belong with a sequel, yet somehow they still make them ☕...

I honestly can't tell if they'll push forward with Ocean's Eleven 😬, or if we're looking at Academy Awards 8 (if I recall correctly, they're already eyeing a ninth installment)—and maybe even Pirate of the Caribbean will make it to a sixth. But if we're talking about the undisputed king of sequels, it has to be Rocky. Even the very first movie wasn't originally supposed to be made 🤣

As far as I know, the police academy series has seven installments 😬 , and there's talk that this might be the last one for the pirate 🤔

Honestly, it feels like every single movie sequel lately just keeps getting worse and worse—it’s pretty clear that everything boils down to nothing but the bottom line and chasing a quick buck.😬

Just wanted to check in and see if anyone else actually sat through this absolute train wreck of a movie... I honestly can't wrap my head around how it managed to snag a 4/10 on IMDb. It’s seriously bad news, like, don't even think about watching it, even if you're just bored on a Sunday night!

For me, this was hands down one of the worst things I've ever wasted my time on. The acting was totally wooden, the plot was super uninspired and felt like something we've seen a million times before, and the special effects were just straight-up cringey. There was zero payoff at the end, just nothing. Seriously, it was just awful... 👎

ps. Why does this even deserve its own thread? It really doesn't, but I figured I'd throw out a quick warning so none of you guys make the same mistake I did. 😉

Yeah, I saw it once and honestly, never again. That movie is a total disaster and easily one of the worst things I've ever sat through. I guess it would've been enough just to mention it in that thread about all-time terrible movies; it definitely doesn't deserve its own entire topic 😉

I kept trying to wrap my head around it, thinking maybe there was some deeper meaning or something hidden I just missed the first time... trying to find the point behind all those disconnected scenes...

Honestly, what was there to overthink? They already explained what those symbols meant.

I can't really recall any specific clues or details right now... It’s been at least five or six years since I last watched it. To me, the whole thing just felt disjointed and pointless—nothing like the first one, which was actually great, tense, and kept me hooked. Then again, maybe I just didn't get it...

But look, setting aside the acting, the special effects, the soundtrack, or even just the glaring plot holes... the actual ending and how everything ties together? Honestly, every single aspect of this movie deserves nothing but the absolute bottom of the barrel. It’s so incredibly bad that you can't even sit there and laugh at it; it's just painful.

Maybe give it another watch. I don't quite understand the confusion here. A small group heads into the woods and things start going sideways. This mockumentary worked because it built such an intense atmosphere without relying on cheap jump scares or gore. It all rested on those three actors.

So I head over there and see all this stuff—like it's some raw, found footage of three kids trekking through the mountains... just photos of them hanging out before they headed into the wilderness and all that junk. I figured, hey, why not? Let's watch it. Well, I just finished, and honestly? I'm floored. I definitely wasn't expecting it to be *this* good. Then you realize the whole website was just one big setup, a total trick to make everything feel staged, even though the movie itself feels so incredibly real. That low-budget camera work? It works perfectly. And the acting... man, I don't even know how to describe it. It's just heavy. What are your thoughts?

Man, you are seriously late to the party with that movie. Honestly? I hated it. The worst part was that damn shaky camera work—it was so bad my eyes actually started hurting. All in all, just a boring waste of time.
