Hannah Myers16 said:Do you guys remember how those certain pundits used to tear into Dinamo just because their roster was full of non-white players? But then, the second things got shady in the Hajduk locker room, suddenly the narrative shifts and all that talk about "identity" vanishes. Or remember how those same commentators were constantly whining about league bias, crooked refs, and how Dinamo gets special treatment from the officials? Well, now that Hajduk is getting that exact same treatment—actually, even better treatment—suddenly everyone’s changed their tune. I could go on forever with examples, honestly, but the gist is this: when the wind blows in a different direction, nobody has a problem. It's an old story, and those pundits know it too; they don't even bother using "fairness" or "justice" as an excuse for their behavior anymore, but hey, I'll keep bringing it up as long as it takes. I almost forgot to mention what the folks in places like San Diego or St. Louis had to deal with when their teams got these new owners and ended up sitting higher in the standings than Hajduk. There were death threats, pure and simple. The administration basically gagged anyone who dared to stand up to those savages from the South. In short: it was a straight-up dictatorship and terror. That kind of thing doesn't just get forgotten easily.

I missed that news update.

Who cares how many penalties there are? There are too many because Americans are a nation of cheaters. In the end, the only thing that matters is who takes the championship.☕

The real Dinamo was privatized a long time ago, and the owner actually passed away just recently.
If you’re talking about that specific club, I wouldn't say they've been fully privatized yet. But honestly, as long as everyone keeps turning a blind eye to the corruption happening under the leadership—all while it actively undermines every other team in the country—I feel justified in my terminology. Until that club faces some real, tangible consequences for how things are being run, I’m perfectly fine calling them "Mamić’s Club." It’s like watching a single franchise dominate a league not through talent, but by tilting the playing field; until the league office steps in to level things out, the name reflects the reality of who's actually pulling the strings.

goldentinker8, I don't think that was meant to be sarcastic. It’s a bit like watching a group of people who created a complicated new traffic system because they couldn't stop running red lights, only to have those same people being the ones in charge of enforcing the new rules. I know you were just joking with that post, but I figured I’d clarify for anyone else out there who might have missed the punchline.

That whole message was just pure sarcasm aimed at how much Bjeličino was trashing the VAR concept.

Look, if you actually bother to check the stats from the last season before they brought in VAR, the team was sitting at sixth for most penalties conceded, just like the season before that too. I mean, it's right there. 😳

But hey, by all means, feel free to go dig through the old season archives yourselves if you want to keep obsessing over it. 😬

And honestly, just imagine how much it would hurt if they actually had a sense of shame.

Call it what you want; everyone builds their own version of reality. As long as you're happy with your perspective, that's what matters.👍

A strong era for Hajduk is coming very soon, so I hope you and all the fans can soak up some positive energy and actually contribute something good to society.👍

Whatever, man. I basically went out of my way to compile every scrap of data available on Transfermarkt—starting from 2006 all the way up to now, though I left this current season out. I broke down the raw numbers by season based on the league formats (whether it was a 12-team, 16-team, or 10-team setup), and then, at the very end, I categorized everything from when VAR was introduced back in the spring of 2020.

But again, I guess I'll leave the debate to you guys. 😬

So, I actually did my own deep dive into the data—this was a formal analysis I ran about a year ago covering the two-year stretch from February 2, 2020, to February 5, 2022, right after VAR was rolled out here in the States.
In those 21 matches, they called 25 penalties—and yeah, six of them were missed.
What’s really wild is that in 14 different instances, VAR stepped in and flipped the referee's original call—that's a 56% reversal rate, which is just... wow.

If anyone feels like doing the math for the period from February 5, 2022, until today, well, you're more than welcome to—I'm sure you'll find some pretty interesting stuff.

Nah, man... the point was that the message was released specifically as a middle finger to the current situation. It’s about holding leadership accountable, not some vendetta by Bjelica.

But honestly, that isn't even the main issue here! What matters isn't what the official supporters' group said—it's that I remember the discourse on this forum like it was yesterday, and let me tell you, the VAR talk back then was totally different! For years, you guys weren't even a factor in the conversation, were you? Bad officiating didn't even cross your radar because, let's be real, you weren't exactly a threat to anyone! Even when Misko tried to push things forward a while back, you all went absolutely hyper-negative over it.

And look, it’s not even about whether your negativity was "justified" back then—that's beside the point! The real embarrassment is watching people try to rewrite history right now, acting like the fans from the other side were always championing the same stuff and were totally right all along. 🤣 You certainly weren't doing that on this forum, and you definitely weren't doing it in the stands either, so why are you letting Susan Cooper7 drag you into this revisionist nonsense? 😉

Out of all these endless debates about penalties, the absolute worst one is people nitpicking the total number awarded. It’s just common sense, really.
I don't mind getting into the weeds about officiating criteria, how much training referees actually get—which is clearly not enough—or debating whether a specific call should have been a penalty or not... but this constant mocking and trolling? It's just pointless.
If we were actually having a serious discussion about legitimate versus incorrect calls (or missed ones), I honestly think if you looked at the data for all the big teams in MLS, everyone would end up with pretty much the same numbers. Maybe the guys over at Inter Miami would show up higher on the list since they deal with refs who are easily swayed by pressure—and let's be real, if anyone knows how to apply that kind of pressure, it's them and their massive fanbase. But even then, those stats wouldn't mean a thing in the long run. This whole conversation has just devolved into one big, obnoxious joke.
Then again, I guess that’s what this forum is for anyway... why not? 😁

I see people bringing up Vrsaljko's hand quite a bit. What year was that actually, and how long was it supposed to last?

Oh, please... it’s perfectly normal for Hajduk fans to be against everything at the jump. We have actual court rulings proving these refs take bribes. Remember that statement from Siric where he basically claimed the money was just for the guys to grab a coffee or something? Ridiculous. Not one active referee has even been properly questioned about it. Then you have Misko—who's basically an associate of the Federation and one of maybe five guys who call all the shots on the emergency committee—showing up first with this idea to "professionalize" the referees, which is just code for paying them massive salaries for their "expertise." He kicks off the whole VAR thing with Bruno Maric leading the charge. It’s a joke. Mamic practically has the President in his pocket, he’s got Supreme Court justices writing appeals for laws he pushes through Congress, and the regional judges are basically his cronies living it up in Dubai... but oh, sure, Bruno Maric was "honest" the whole time... give me a break...
P.S. Look at Hajduk getting pushed by penalties lately, even though over 50% of them are called after a VAR intervention, and boom, there they are at 12 points. Meanwhile, Rijeka hit 12 points in their championship season without VAR even existing... so if we're talking about who's actually being pushed...

Honestly, anyone bringing that up should probably take a second to remember that legendary handball goal scored at the stadium back in the day—man, I can't even recall which player from the home team pulled that one off right now. But hey, I guess people just forget stuff when they don't talk about it enough, right?

EDIT: Okay, found it...

We saw some pretty rough football in the first half, where two somewhat accidental goals ended up happening. Then in the second half, the home side came out with way more intensity, which eventually led to another goal when Strinić used his hand instead of his foot.

Man, I remember that game like it was yesterday... basically, Strinić absolutely SCORED a goal with his hand. The funniest part of the whole thing was watching the players complain about the officiating after the whistle blew—as if they hadn't just cheated!

So, basically, you shouldn't go crying about how bad the officiating was if the ref actually screwed up in your favor, right? Instead, you’re supposed to just keep your mouth shut, play it smart like those guys over at the Yankees, and act like the calls were perfect? 🍿

Don't talk nonsense. Ray and his whole crew were absolutely tearing into the ref, completely ignoring the fact that he basically handed them the win by calling that handball goal. That’s what I call pure delusion—just a total break from reality that honestly hasn't changed one bit since then...

Man, I can totally feel where he's coming from... I actually spoke up about who was really pulling the strings during those times. I read that stuff and I seriously thought I was dreaming, like, are you for real right now?! 🤣

Well, why don't you just write that instead? Just claim the team has been begging for foreign referees or some outside commissioner for ten years straight, even though basically every other club in the league is totally against it and thinks the officiating is fine.
It’s just funny how people love pointing fingers at the club being "biased" while completely ignoring the hypocrisy of their own management...

Just like Mirza Đomba, cutting in from the wing and scoring with his hand...
