After that, even though he was legendary, Bayern Munich didn't dominate the league quite as hard because they had to deal with a tough Werder Bremen and later VfB Stuttgart, not to mention the LP. Still, his presence in the net was unmatched; he had this insane authority and charisma. If you compare him to Manuel Neuer, Kahn was already a beast back when he was with Schalke 04. He deserves way more credit for the 2014 FIFA World Cup than people give him, despite that one mistake in the final. We're here to debate, but over there, they're just voting.

Even while wearing that helmet and sitting out for months at a time, he managed to hold onto his records... though one has to wonder, if we didn't have a legendary striker like Van Nistelrooy leading the line, would those achievements even carry the same weight?

Who is Ruud van Nistelrooy supposed to replace? Before the head injury, Čech was top tier. Even after the accident, I think people underrated him, despite the occasional blunder—like that match against Turkey during the Euros.
