Greetings,

Can anyone recommend a reliable SMA to RP-SMA adapter from eBay or Amazon?

I'm looking for a fixed SMA female to RP-SMA male connector.

Thanks,

LP

You’d be better off asking that on a dedicated subforum... 👍

@Drew Clark10
What do you even mean by a "good adapter"?
It’s just a hunk of metal that costs a few bucks. There isn't anything special about it, good or bad...🤷

lol, it’s pretty obvious you haven't spent much time working with RF stuff before, because when you're dealing with high frequencies, every little detail impacts the connector design, and even the tiniest mistake can mess up your impedance. You have to consider material choice, environmental factors like weather, what kind of cables you're running, whether the connectors are gold or silver plated, and if the geometry is precise down to a fraction of a millimeter...

As for what the OP should actually buy, I honestly don't know which one is "good" since I've never really had to hunt for one, so your best bet is probably just scouring some international forums.

edit—actually, I'd suggest the author take a look over at http://www.mgs4u.com/SMA.htm where I used to pick up RF relays and connectors ages ago; that shop really specializes in this niche stuff, and while some people might think paying $5 or $10 for a single connector is overkill, it's really nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Look, I get where he's coming from, but those listings on eBay don't list any actual specs, manufacturers, or brands... there's nothing to go on to figure out if a product is actually high-quality. Even if you pull the trigger on one and decide it's decent, who's to say you won't end up with something totally different the next time you order?
