Every time I play some music, my screen hits sleep mode after about ten minutes. When I try to wake it up by clicking the mouse or hitting a key, the playback just dies—it won't resume unless I restart the whole track from the beginning.
I've tried searching for answers, but I can't seem to find the right keywords to get anything useful out of Google.
I'm running Windows XP. I used Windows 7 recently and never ran into this issue.

The easiest fix is honestly just to turn off your screen saver...

And you haven't even mentioned what kind of gear you're running yet!

😁

I’m sticking with MediaMonkey. I used a few different players back when I was on Windows XP, and everything worked fine on Windows 7. 🤷
Unless it's just a driver issue.

I wouldn't say it's a certainty, though I suppose anything is possible if you look at it from a certain angle.
I’ll probably just circle back to my previous suggestion about disabling the screensaver entirely—it’s like clearing a roadblock off a highway; once you do that, everything just flows smoothly again.

What makes you so set on using Windows XP?

My current rig is just too weak. It could barely handle Windows 7 back in the day. It’s doing alright for now, but once I upgrade to something modern, I might consider moving back to Windows 7.

If anyone else is dealing with similar hardware limitations (and has found a workaround), feel free to chime in.

Doctor, just install the drivers for that motherboard and it should work fine, assuming they actually know how to write them.
I’ve never heard of such a problem.
