Just another 👍 slap on the wrist with a tiny little fence around it; honestly, this kind of thing needs to happen more often.
Whenever I feel like reading absolute nonsense, I head straight over to the conspiracy theory threads.
There is a specific topic here for everyone, but let’s be real—not every topic is meant for everyone.

That’s spot on.
It feels like we've just had a massive influx of oceans worth of anti-vaxxers, conspiracy theorists, and honestly, just straight-up spammers flooding this thread; I mean, it's definitely reached that point where actual, normal conversation is becoming impossible.
No matter how much stuff gets deleted, I guess it’s still not being cleared out nearly enough. 😁

Backing up z_k-a. 🙏
If you ask me, his moderation during the Corona era was incredibly well-balanced. He actually gets people and understands the vibe of the conversation. He doesn't just go full cop mode or get bogged down in technicalities; he just handles things exactly how they should be handled.

I’m all for mods staying neutral. Once a moderator jumps into a debate, you basically lose the right to disagree—you can't exactly push back against them without consequences.

Beyond that, the rules don't seem to apply equally to everyone.

For instance, if someone calls you a fascist and you just point out they're being toxic, their post stays up while yours gets flagged or deleted entirely...

Mods will swoop in and hand out penalties without any explanation—no reason given, nothing.

Honestly, people would contribute to way more threads if certain mods didn't shut down any "alternative" viewpoints. At the end of the day, if you want to actually participate here, you end up sticking to a few trivial topics. If you drive away all the high-quality users (and I don't mean myself, but there are some truly great folks here), you'll be left with nothing but trolls.

Discussions get cut short, posts vanish, and you're left with a conversation that makes zero sense.

Here’s another example: in threads specifically marked "NO COMMENTARY," the "commentators" aren't getting their posts removed. If a thread is designated as commentary-free, that's exactly what the mods should be enforcing.

They're missing right where they're needed most, and they're meddling right where they shouldn't be, which just ruins the whole discussion.

I’m jumping on the bandwagon here and joining the criticism of the moderation on this forum. Honestly, if they’re planning on keeping things at this low level of oversight, wouldn't it be better if the mods or the owner just stated the "official" stance on every topic? That way, anyone who doesn't see eye-to-eye with them can just save themselves the trouble and not waste their breath. It’s seriously frustrating when you spend your time typing out a post, hunting down links, and actually researching a subject, only for some petty little soul to go in and delete it just because they don't agree with what was said. And to top it all off, there isn't even an explanation as to why things are being scrubbed.

In reality, that isn't quite how things work on this forum. Since we are specifically discussing federal regulations here, one only needs to follow a couple of threads regarding the coronavirus where he participates to see that his neutrality is far from absolute, given the types of comments he allows on his own posts.
So, while you feel he is too harsh on dissenters, I personally find him a bit too lenient, though I suspect the truth lies somewhere in the middle. 🤷

Furthermore, the rules don't seem to be applied equally to everyone.

If someone calls you a fascist and you respond by pointing out their malice, their post stays up while yours gets a warning or is deleted entirely...

Could we see an actual example of that? If what you've written is accurate, then we are looking at moderator bias, though I suspect there might be more to the story than what is being presented.

I’m also giving the moderator a thumbs up... 👍

Usually, the admins jump on threads like this immediately and shut them down just to stop people from talking, and then you realize that moderator is being protected like a grizzly bear in Yellowstone...
Starting a thread like this usually means bad news for the moderator, so we might as well make it clear that there are plenty of us here who actually back his work...
The initial thread about Corona, before the official coronavirus pdf was released under the direction of KLCCLK, was an absolute train wreck. Honestly, it’s no surprise given the moderator's delusional takes—I still remember his infamous claim that there was a "99% chance this wouldn't turn into a pandemic"...🤣...and then he went right ahead and moderated based on those exact views.
The coronavirus pdf is actually really well-moderated, if I'm being honest. My only real gripe is that they should be handing out much harsher penalties to all those conspiracy theorists...
If you're looking to discuss conspiracy theories—any theory, really, not just stuff about the coronavirus—there's a specific PDF alternative for that. It even covers a few topics regarding the coronavirus. In my opinion, that’s where those discussions belong. We shouldn't let conspiracy theorists clutter up every other thread; if we're too tolerant of them, it's going to happen inevitably...

Gerald Chavez7 said:I’ve been cleaning up some incredibly stupid posts, endless bickering, and pure spam. Honestly, maybe I should have been more aggressive—it feels like I might have missed a few.

hollowwalker24 is just a spammer at this point. Dropping 50 links followed by four massive posts in a row without actually engaging with them—well, it kills any decent discussion. Since I’ve been moderating the Covid threads since day one, I’ve seen this exact pattern cycle through every 10–15 days. It's nothing new.

P.S. The supermods and Nica can always see the deleted content, so they aren't lost—and they certainly don't need to be re-added.

You didn't just delete only stupid posts, bickering, and spam. You also nuked differing opinions by essentially labeling anything unlike your own view as "stupid."
That's a completely different ballgame; you're comparing apples to oranges here.
But hey, if that's how you want to play it, fine. At least have the guts to be honest about it: "I'm deleting this because I have the power to do so and I simply don't like what you think."
The problem is, if you actually admitted that, you'd have to face the fact that people would think poorly of you. 😁 And frankly, they'd be right to do so.

You're proof that the world is full of shallow people who lack actual opinions because they only follow what's considered "normal" or socially acceptable. If you go against the grain, you're suddenly enemy number one. Have you ever heard of having a different perspective? Believe me, there is so much more out there than your narrow worldview can grasp, but you're too limited by what's merely mainstream.😁

Maybe we should just let the conspiracy theories and all that Alternative stuff stay over on Alternative?

Everything that needs to be said has been said here, and honestly, it looks like this thread is just devolving into a bunch of vague, general whining.

Look, we have a specific subforum dedicated to COVID theories where you can explore the "softer" side of things—you know, the relatively harmless stuff involving the Bilderberg Group, lizard people, or those other shadowy secret societies—but we aren't hosting medical quackery there. And as for any of the other threads? There’s zero chance of that happening either. Not a prayer.
