The 18th. Or maybe the 25th of this month. One step at a time... I'll check back in once I've got it done.

If I’m remembering you correctly, you’re planning to get that done at the Light clinic over in Miami?

The optical center in New York City.

My bad—I totally mixed you up with user "ballotom"

I think he’s originally from Miami, whereas I’m based out of Washington, D.C. It’s a shame he hasn't weighed in yet, especially since he really has the most experience with this kind of thing...

So, I was scrolling through The Washington Post this morning, and they’re digging into this whole mess regarding those public procurement contracts that the Associated Press picked up over in Poland...

Here’s the link—it just popped up in the digital edition of The Washington Post too

So, you managed to get your hands on those Alcon contact lenses... I'm actually looking to pick up a pair myself. People always claim they're the gold standard, and since it's such an established company, it's hard to argue with that reputation.

When I really sit down and think about it, even my go-to contact lenses that I've been wearing for years are actually from Alcon...

Good luck tomorrow—don't let the surgery get to you... honestly, it's a really smooth process for the patient. And definitely reach out and let us know how it went.

Thanks. It isn't exactly fear, just a bit of nerves... more like anticipation than anything else. Anyway, I'll be sure to check in.

I completely forgot to ask you... Did you run into any issues with the light being too intense? Some people ended up needing sunglasses for this, but I wanted to get your take...

In my case, absolutely nothing—or at least, very little...

Maybe just for the first day or two, but like I said, it’s really negligible

It’s honestly pretty much a non-issue. Besides, it looks like we're in for three days of nonstop rain anyway, so I'm basically living in the clouds at this point. Hehe. Thanks...

The whole procedure went by fast—painless and smooth, just like you said. It’s been a few hours now, and honestly, the only thing I can feel is a tiny sensation, like there's a stray eyelash in my eye... that's about it. I'm taking the bandage off tomorrow, so we'll see how things actually look then. As for the doctor and the nursing staff, I have nothing but praise. They really kept me calm; I didn't feel a bit of anxiety thanks to them. More updates tomorrow.

There it is.

So, did the doctor actually give you a specific target number for your prescription?

He didn't say anything today, but he did mention last week that he was planning on going short at a slight discount. I'll have to see how things shake out tomorrow... Are you currently sitting on a loss at 1.5?

Yeah. Honestly, if they’d managed to get me under -1.0, I would’ve been absolutely thrilled. But hey, I can't complain—I'm pretty happy with how things turned out! :-)

Drop me a line tomorrow after your first follow-up appointment

Day two. I just took the bandages off all at once—it was pure magic. Honestly, words don't do it justice. After all these years, I finally got to see again. Looking out my window at the street, I can see the cars and the light rail passing by so clearly. It’s like seeing my childhood neighborhood in D.C. come back to life. Even the subtitles on the TV in the waiting room were perfectly sharp. I'm just... overwhelmed.

That’s awesome. So, you’re basically saying your prescription is effectively at zero now?

EDIT: Just curious—what was your actual starting prescription before you went under the knife?
