I recently had an abdominoplasty done to fix my hernia and diastasis recti.

Does Medicare still cover skin removal surgery performed by Dr. Gveric? I don't have specific medical indications, other than having lost 50 pounds and dealing with an enormous amount of excess skin...

Is anyone actually active on this forum? I am currently preparing for an abdominoplasty and skin removal on my legs, so any firsthand experiences would be incredibly helpful. Come on, ladies and gentlemen, please speak up.

So, I had my tummy tuck yesterday after those failed lipo and plasma treatments just ended up stretching my skin out even more. It’s day two now. Feeling a little sore, and I still have the drain on my left side. Honestly, huge props to the clinic where I went—they even treated me to breakfast, lunch, and coffee. Such a nice touch! Everything is going well so far. As for the final results? We’ll just have to wait and see. I've got to wear the compression garment for about 6 weeks.

So, I went in yesterday after a failed lipolysis and J-plasma session. It's day two now and I still have the drain in. Dealing with the compression garment for six weeks. Just gotta wait for the results.

Does anyone know if Medicare covers these costs, or did you all go through private providers?

Are there any guys on this forum who have actually gone through this surgery? I’m scheduled for it in about a week, and honestly, my head is spinning with questions. Can you really get back to work—say, a standard desk job—after just two weeks? I know sleeping might be tricky, but is it realistic to hop in a car and drive maybe 20 miles the very next day? I'm just trying to figure out my transportation situation ahead of time. Also, what's the deal with the compression garment? Do you seriously have to wear it 24/7? And how does showering or bathing work during recovery? When can you finally get back to your normal routine—working out, sex, the whole nine yards? Has anyone here gotten a tattoo to cover up the scar? How big is the incision, anyway? Does it wrap all the way around your waist? I also read somewhere that you should probably quit smoking before the procedure... is that true? Are follow-up appointments mandatory? What kind of meds am I looking at post-op? And what are the actual risks involved? Please, if you have any insight, help a guy out!

I’ve been scrolling through some older posts on this thread, but since both medical practices and personal experiences shift so much over the years, I was wondering if anyone has had an abdominoplasty—a tummy tuck—done in Washington, D.C., within the last year or two?
I've spent the last few days Googling various outpatient clinics and surgeons, but it seems like almost all the reviews I stumble upon focus on other procedures; there's surprisingly little information out there specifically for tummy tucks.
To make matters more confusing, some clinics boast a perfect 5/5 on Google Reviews or a 4.5/5 on Facebook, yet you'll find the same surgeon sitting at a 3.8/5 on Healthgrades. It’s honestly making it quite difficult to decide which specialist to trust, even though I joke to myself that anything will look better than my current situation! 😁

I am currently torn between these specific names...

Bagatin, Tončić, Džepina, Duduković, Filipović Lohuis, Eljuga, and Maletić.
