Ashley Vaughn79 said:So you think it's fine to shut down crazy threads after only 20 pages without giving a single decent explanation?

And then shutting our chat down by threatening that it won't exist on the US site anymore because it's all based on her GOODWILL, rather than being our actual RIGHT.
Man... and the language being used... 🤦

My blood pressure just spiked instantly from that level of arrogance.

If I remember correctly, Phiber was writing basically the same thing a few years back when he was more active. Why didn't it bother you back then?

There are plenty of complaints where Nice used those exact same lines—claiming that whether a sub-forum gets a chat is purely a matter of goodwill.

Just think back to that most popular "General Discussion" chat that got nuked specifically because things escalated out of control.

Besides, she only recently made her comeback over at ZUD anyway. 🤷

Yeah, but whose goodwill exactly?
Do the people in one of the fast-paced chats on this forum really deserve being threatened with the entire thing being shut down?

This chat isn't actually a problem... if anything, it's just a place where people in a virtual setting coordinate their real-life meetups.
I don't know about everyone else, but as a platform, it means a lot to me.
Sure, someone is making crude jokes in there every now and then... but those aren't exactly alarming enough to even consider shutting it down.
Let alone threatening people like this directly.

If Lucy (since she's the one who felt threatened) were active in that chat, she’d know who Cleo is, which forum member loves perfumes, what kind of woman Paw is looking for, what "Mechanical" actually refers to, or exactly what it means when someone says they're hanging out on a balcony... I might actually have something to say.
It's true, the woman is watching... she made a fair assessment.
Honestly, I might even agree—we're partly to blame ourselves.
But this... 🤷

Give us our chat back.

To be perfectly honest, I find half of you quite difficult to follow. Everyone seems to agree now that a moderator doesn't need to be constantly lurking in every thread, provided they respond to reports, yet you spent the entire afternoon posturing about how you never bother to report anyone. At the same time, you complain about the state of the chat, though it seems you don't actually want a functional one. In what parallel universe is this supposed self-sustaining system meant to operate, and by what logic? 🤔

I won't even get started on the threats directed at those who actually submit reports—whether coming from the users themselves or from moderators claiming such reports will be punished for being too frequent or unjustified. It is clearly chaos, though there is certainly room for debate as to why today was specifically judged to have crossed the line. ☕

I’m right there with Louis on this one. Honestly, we need to shut this chat down for at least two or three months, maybe even longer if things don't settle down. ☕

So, I guess I've officially become known for my biting remarks—or maybe just my literal bites? Either way, here we go! 🤣🤣🤣 I just hope—Lord knows when—that's how people will remember me. 🤣

One month. Then you go back after six months, then a third time... and then you're set for life! ☕

Come on, you two, please stop chatting.

Otherwise, they'll just close my thread. 😁
Anyway, I'm working on getting our bar back.

By any means necessary. 😬

Honestly, we’re all far too cool to care about some random chat room, which explains why people are flooding the place with thousands of posts a minute just to talk about grabbing beers or heading down to Santa Monica and whatever else. Perhaps Apple opened a bottle of wine for an anniversary tonight and felt like socializing, only to have everything go sideways, leaving her staring at the ceiling at home and contemplating the meaning of life.

In all seriousness, there are plenty of other chat rooms out there, but if this one is truly such a disaster that it needs to be shut down, I can't say I agree; I'd much prefer to see some concrete reasons for the trouble rather than just closing shop when a few warnings or a quick change of topic might have done the trick.

Goodnight, everyone; we'll get back to typing tomorrow, hopefully 🙂

Look, let’s quit the small talk. The truth is, would America actually be a better place if this chat didn't even exist? I think Louisa might actually be onto something here.

Honestly, I’m out here fighting for the soul of this chat. It needs a total overhaul—we’re talking structural reform! We really need to bring in a dedicated chat moderator based on an actual community poll. This person would need to be tough but fair—totally unbiased and honest, you know? I’ve actually got a few people in mind already. At the end of the day, a digital chat can never truly replace real-life, face-to-face connections.

What if they just make Ban Latica the moderator? ☕

I guess I should make sure this doesn't fly under the radar.

Maybe we should get ruggedscout76 in there.

I really appreciate her sense of humor, that driven mindset, and how she avoids drama. Plus, she actually keeps up with the classics.

The spirituality chat doesn't actually have any moderators, but honestly, it kind of moderates itself... once people start fighting, everyone just goes silent for days or even weeks at a time. 🤣
Maybe we should all take a page out of that chat's book. 😁

I noticed the thread about Chihuahuas got shut down right after I posted, so I went looking for the reason—turns out the original poster was the one who asked to close it.

Good grief, what did you all do yesterday? 🤦

Louisa, you have completely wrecked my routine! Every single morning, I wake up, head to the restroom, grab a glass of water, and crawl right back into bed just to scroll through the forum... honestly, I usually head straight to the chat to see what's going on. ☕

It is a miserable morning today because I actually have to sit here and write that you are all being absolute cowards, and I'm feeling down simply because the chat is closed. 🙂

Look, there are grumpy people here, and yes, I know I’ve been waking up on the wrong side of the bed myself lately, but we still love each other... we get along fine... we hang out... and we plan meetups, which is wonderful because you can always find help, support, and genuine people in the chat if you just know how to read between the lines and ignore the idiots who disrupt the peace.

Take this for example... if I hadn't annoyed the lovely person who was actually being helpful and assisting me... thank you, kind souls! 😍

It feels like we run into the exact same idiots over and over again, but good grief... out of a hundred people, there are at least two hundred narcissists running around. 😬

I want my routine back... please, give me my morning routine back! 😢

Even yesterday wasn't really that alarming.

I posted a comment about how our mod seems completely indifferent toward the PDF he’s supposed to be managing (I'm ready for a ban for saying that), Yoda was throwing a fit about who's reporting his posts (since Lucy supposedly told him people were flagging everything), and wiredfox wrote about which one of Louis's accounts is a clone because she saw it published publicly somewhere else.

I think announcing the clone is what really set Lucy off.
She seems like the type of person who uses moderator tools to settle private disputes, which I just can't get behind.

And now our chat is totally ruined.
As punishment.

Alright, I guess I’m clearly the one in the wrong here just because I brought up someone else's profile.
I honestly had no idea it was some kind of classified information, and frankly, I don't really see why it would be, considering everyone was talking about it openly on the community boards anyway.

So yeah, my bad—feel free to hit me with a permanent ban or whatever you think is necessary.
If I'm such a massive problem, then go ahead and start your own private group chat; I won't be sticking around to watch.

Daniel Kelly57, are you seriously banning me just because I mentioned wiredfox? That's pretty low.
But honestly, you've always been a backstabber, and based on what others have been saying, this isn't even an isolated incident, so I can't say I'm all that surprised.

Look, everyone knows there's a clone for MK, 🤷 so what's the big deal? You just delete the post and move on with your life.

Give a person some breathing room and you'll see their true colors eventually.😳

I never report posts... I only reported Yogi once, and that was because he was being absolutely unacceptable... now I'm set for the next few years.😬 I have nothing to hide.

Honestly, this chat... who is the unlucky person behind that old PC?🙂

Stop whining like a bunch of babies and just suck it up. She’ll get it open once she finishes cleaning. Amen. 😬
