First off, hey everyone, I'm new here. πŸ‘‹

I was wondering if it’s actually smart to just slather zinc ointment all over my face and call it a night, since I've got breakouts everywhere and honestly can't be bothered to spot-treat them one by one with paste.

Then in the morning, I'll just wash it all off with Neutrogena and see what happens. πŸ™‚

I honestly have my doubts about that being such a bright idea, mostly because zinc paste can be incredibly drying on the skin.
If you end up stripping your skin of its natural moisture, your body might just overcompensate by pumping out even more sebum as a defense mechanism, which could lead to a whole new wave of breakouts.
At least, that’s my two cents on the matter!

I've been around the block a few times, and believe me, I have dealt with my fair share of acne struggles. My advice? Just dab that zinc ointment directly onto the breakouts themselves. If you're looking for something a bit more heavy-duty, head over to a CVS or Walgreensβ€”they carry an excellent acne paste that works wonders. It’s very similar to the zinc ointment (which is likely its main ingredient anyway), but it’s way more effective. Plus, you can easily wear it on your face all day and night without any issues! :P

Honestly, if it’s causing more dryness, I wouldn't touch itβ€”I ended up seriously burning my own skin 😲
Do you guys remember when that Oxi gel was everywhere? I made the absolute mistake of leaving it on overnight, and let me tell you, I woke up feeling so miserable I thought I might actually pass out; only some chamomile tea finally helped me calm down. Looking back, I can't even fathom why I did it, because my face was perfectly clear before that, and then suddenly everything just started going wrong! If you're going to use it at all, just dab it directly onto the breakouts and leave it at that.πŸ˜‰

So, where can I find those zinc creams in Chicago?

I used to slather zinc ointment on my face like a mask, leaving it on for an hourβ€”sometimes even sleeping in it! For me, it didn't clear up the breakouts at all; honestly, sometimes it actually made things worse. It doesn't even dry out my skin, which is its own issue. One thing that actually worked for a while was the Gatinea SOS stick. It costs about $50, but it’s worth every penny since a little goes a long way. That said, my best advice is to just see a dermatologist. There really aren't any cheap, overnight fixes for problematic skin. If you go rogue and try every random DIY hack out there, you might just end up making matters worse. Believe me, I learned the hard way. I've cycled through a million different creams, and I went from simple breakouts straight to full-blown acne. Now, I'm dealing with that teenage-style breakout phase all over again, thanks to some hormonal shifts.

My skin always seems to clear up a bit when I'm vacationing at the beach, but the issues never fully disappear... it's much easier for me to manage regular pimples, but I'm constantly fighting a million of those painful, deep cystic ones underneath the surface... πŸ˜’πŸ˜±πŸ€¦πŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ™‚
