Why though? Is it because he’s out there supporting separatism?

With the way he plays his hand, he’s never going to pull more than 10% in California, and when it comes to national coalitions, he'll struggle to hit 6-7% in the US... and deep down, he knows it.
He treats politics like one big joke, but you have to admit, his commentary is absolutely essential when someone takes the floor in the State Legislature. If nothing else, those small-town restaurateurs and "professional patriots" who somehow hold seats as representatives—there are nearly 80 of them—won't understand a single thing until he starts talking.

They should consider printing something like "Passports for the City-State of Cacko," and have every major municipality do the same to make a real point about the need for decentralization or whatever it is they claim to want. That would be a charmingly grassroots way to handle it. As it stands, I’m fully in favor of printing a whole new batch of "California Passports," along with "Passports for Independent New York City, the Vozdovac Police district, the Ring Road Police district, and the Rakovica Police district." Let that drunken buffoon keep shouting his little jokes, "Addicts! Addicts!" Maybe if the reformed Filaret stepped in, he could actually help him out...
