Arthur Barnes said:A buddy told me asthma attacks usually happen in stages. Like, you struggle more and more until you just can't breathe at all. That’s not how it works for me though. Out of nowhere, I just... stop breathing.
And this specialist I saw has this specific group for asthma patients. He's a PhD, maybe 35 years old, and he says it isn't even asthma. A woman at the ER thought it might be, said it looked like it, but her findings don't really line up with typical asthma because people with asthma have different blood gas ratios or something like that...
Greetings from Austria - and sorry if my English is a bit rough...
I've been dealing with something similar for two years now (well, I don't feel like I'm suffocating, but I just can't clear my throat) and my doctor told me it's actually reflux. Stomach acid travels back up into my throat and causes inflammation because my throat just can't handle that level of acid like my stomach does. First off, they recommended I drop a few pounds, because all that extra weight is squishing my stomach. I've already got several referrals for ultrasounds (to rule out gallstones) and a gastroscopy... because sometimes I can actually feel a "stone" in my stomach.
