Where on earth do you guys find all those pills? :P

For me, Advil works wonders. Just one or two tablets usually does the trick and I feel fine again.

To anyone dealing with really heavy symptoms, I’d honestly suggest trying to get active for a month—like, go hard with cardio, weights, and stuff. Aim for at least 3, 4, or 5 days a week for 40+ minutes. Maybe look for a women’s group class where they hit all the muscle groups properly.

It personally made a massive difference for me. I went through this phase for over six months where I just couldn't function because the pain was so bad before and after my period—it actually lasted more than half the month sometimes. I completely gave up on my social life because I was miserable. But after doing gym for a month, everything just stopped; even my regular cycle totally disappeared for a while. 🎉

Now my normal cycle is back, so I'm hoping once I get back into my workout routine, the pain won't follow me. 🙂 😉 👍

Hey there! I’m actually wondering about how to get my hands on those prescription tablets myself. Up until now, Neofen was doing the trick, but the last couple of times I took it, it felt like I was swallowing nothing at all😢. With the holidays right around the corner, I really need something with a bit more kick. Is it enough to just call up my GP (or maybe a general practitioner?), or am I going to have to head in for a full check-up first? Help!

The rule still holds true for me... I rarely experience any pain, maybe two or three times a year at most, and my period only lasts about three or four days. -.-

Now, I actually get through my daily responsibilities and can even squeeze in a workout. Before, I used to just count down the minutes until I could crawl into bed. I honestly thought I’d be suffering forever, but somehow I managed to beat the odds and live a normal life. Those commercials where people jump around in white pants without worrying about leaks? They don't look like total fiction to me anymore.🤣

I’ve always found myself wondering why women act so scandalized by other women who can pull off white pants during their period... 🤔 🤷

I don’t have any actual pain, honestly, zero problems at all. But I am taking Aspirin Protect because of some heart issues. So, I was wondering if anyone else deals with longer periods if they happen to be on daily Aspirin? I’m 44, and my cycle is usually very regular—actually, it’s been more consistent now than it was back in my 20s or 30s. But one month this winter, my period ended about two days early, and I had been taking the Aspirin Protect every single day that month. At this rate, I guess I’ll probably keep having cycles until at least 50. Because of those chest pains—which happened three times in such a short span—I just don't dare stop taking the Aspirin.

Is there anything else besides ibuprofen that actually works for period cramps? I’ve been reading about how harsh ibuprofen can be on your system, and honestly, I’m going through a whole box of tablets every single month just to stay afloat.
Does anyone know of any good alternatives?

Ibuprofen is easily one of the least risky painkillers out there. You've got people living with arthritis who have to pop these every single day for the rest of their lives just to maintain basic functionality.
If you don't have any side effects and you actually stick to the prescribed maximum dosage, there shouldn't be any issues.
Has anyone actually checked if there's any underlying cause for these pains?
It’s endometriosis, plain and simple.

I was wondering if any of you ladies deal with periods that have gotten so heavy and painful that you’re basically out of commission for like two days every single month? My gynecologist said he could cover me for it occasionally, but the issue is that it's becoming a regular thing now. I’m actually on extended medical leave right now for some other health issues and a recent surgery, but I’m honestly dreading going back to work because I know what’s coming. I guess I'm just not sure if I should even give my boss a heads-up about all this beforehand.

There are plenty of us.
Go get a full checkup to find the root cause. Sometimes it’s endometriosis, and other times it’s just a hormonal imbalance. A doctor can prescribe birth control pills that regulate your hormones and bring that bleeding down to a minimum.
