Why are these pills so freaking expensive -.-? Last month I dropped about $27 on mine, meanwhile my mom takes those Trinova ones and pays like 30-$13 for a whole three-month supply -.-. Look, I'm a college student, and yeah, okay, everyone’s whining about teen pregnancies and all that, but this stuff is pricey. -.-
I don't get the pill thing (okay, fine, I'm embarrassed, I know it's some hormone stuff) but why does hers cost so little while mine costs way more😁?
When I finally lose it, I'm just gonna start taking hers🙂

I’ve been dealing with this issue for two months straight now... I’ve been taking Triquilar tablets for about five months. For the first three months, everything was absolutely fine 👍 but last month, when I switched from the red pills to the white ones... immediately after the very first pill, I started feeling this mild vaginal itching. But that isn't even the worst part; the real problem is that the itching just keeps getting worse every single day. It starts stinging, and then I get this discharge—kind of like clear fluid but with these little white clumps. As for having sex? Let’s just say 😢 it’s incredibly painful, and I have this constant sensation that everything is bone dry, even though it actually isn't.
Has anyone else ever dealt with something like this??? 😕 😢
Now that this is happening for the second time in a row, I’m starting to get genuinely worried... 😕
And oh! That whole ordeal lasted until I finally finished the entire pack of tablets... (it slowly started to settle down toward the end).
I really don't want to go through that again... Honestly, it’s not even about the sex for me; what’s truly miserable is the constant itching and burning. And when I have to use the bathroom and wipe afterward... good grief, it stings and hurts so much!😠 👎

That was just how much Yasmin cost; I paid $86, then it climbed to $34 (gas prices).
Now I’m drinking Yaz and $39 (drinking too much). Honestly, it's getting out of hand...

Ugh. 🙄 I also had to switch to Yaz during my first time on birth control $39 because it wasn't available at my local private pharmacy yet. Once they started stocking it, the cost hit $35 😁 Lucky me. 😁

Personally, I haven't gone through anything like that, but maybe take a look at this thread:

And you should definitely see a gynecologist. They'll know what's actually going on... 😉

Hey girls!🙂
My sister’s sixteen and she’s dead set on hitting up a liquor store to hunt for birth control. She’s asking me if it’s a smart move, and honestly, I’m stuck. I don't even know what to tell her. 😕
I mean, is it actually smart to start hitting them that early? :S
I've got this massive fear of getting pregnant...

Look, if she has a boyfriend and they’re sleeping together—or even just thinking about it—I’d say it’s more than responsible to be on the pill. We all know they’re way more reliable than just relying on a condom. In my opinion, you should ideally never have to touch them, but back when I was 16, my dermatologist actually put me on them to help clear up my skin. If they weren't relatively safe, a doctor wouldn't be handing them out like candy. It is what it is, you gotta do what you gotta do...😁

shadowfox49 said:Mood swings—they’re definitely a thing. They used to absolutely wreck me (I went through six months of it and didn't even realize I was becoming "a little" mentally unstable; it just felt "normal" at the time. It wasn't until I stopped taking Loestrin that I realized what those last six months were actually like and how much I'd changed 😂). People say it takes three months to adjust... Good luck during those few months if you decide to keep taking them. I really hope you feel better soon. 😉
Regarding your period—are we talking about the withdrawal bleeding after finishing your first pack, or the bleeding you get right when you first start the pills?
Spotting, or those random little bits of bleeding throughout the month, is totally possible and listed as a side effect. I had it once; it was just a lighter extension of my period (the one that started when I kicked off my first pack), lasting maybe a week. But check out the previous question and wait for someone smarter and more experienced than me to chime in.
Yeah, I mean the amount of bleeding right after finishing that first pack. I just started the second one now, so we'll see how it goes...

I'm on Yaz, and my main issue is just this feeling of being dry, even though I know I'm not. By the way, can anyone help me out with this? I couldn't find a thread specifically for this topic:
I tried to be intimate with my boyfriend, and he just can't fully enter—and look, I'm not a virgin—but it hurts so much. I know I need to relax, and I *am* relaxed, plus he's being super gentle and we've tried everything under the sun, but once he goes even a little bit deep, it starts hurting me. It's nowhere near pleasurable. Plus, I get this sensation like he needs to go deeper, like it's just not enough. Could the pills be causing this? Like, could there be a connection to low libido? Generally speaking, my drive has been at zero since I started them—for example, I barely feel any pleasure during oral or whatever.🙄

Based on all that, I'd say it sounds like a yeast infection, but you should definitely hit up a doctor regardless😉
That's exactly what happens to me every time I'm near the end of my pills... once my period gets close, a yeast infection is basically inevitable!
I've changed up my routine a bit lately... used some vaginal suppositories and it cleared up... but I'm still staying pretty cautious🙂

Moderators, move this if I'm in the wrong section. My girlfriend takes Diana 35 birth control (or something similar, I can't recall the exact name). We went on vacation and she wanted to delay her period. Her doctor told her to keep taking the pills to prevent it from starting. During our trip, we had sex several times and I finished inside her. Now her period is three days late. I'm wondering if there's a chance she could be pregnant, even though she was taking the pills consistently and they are supposed to be reliable. What could be going on here?

My partner took her second pill today, but she’s still bleeding quite a bit. Is that actually normal? :S

Is this her first time drinking? Like, starting right on day one of her period?
So, here’s how it started. It was the very first day and the first time everything kicked off. She actually got her period on Sunday right around 1:00 AM. She just went straight to bed to get some rest, and then she took her pill at 3:00 PM that afternoon. That was day one. 🤷

Honestly, this thing’s gonna stick around until the end. The pills aren't even stopping it, I think—it just needs to clear all that leftover stuff from my last cycle out of my system, you know? 🙂

Is it too early to start on birth control at 15—like, basically turning 16 soon? 😕
I guess I'm just wondering if starting this young could actually mess anything up...🤷

First off, I’m not a woman, even though I'm "hanging out" in a subforum meant strictly for them 🙂... Honestly, I just figured this was the best spot to drop this thread.
So, I'm posting this for my girlfriend (17.5) and myself... Like the title says, we're looking into contraception. I'm not gonna get all deep or invasive about our private life here, but basically, we need a specific method right now. Since she's slammed and can't make it to a doctor for maybe another 20 days, we need a temporary fix. Once she has the time, she'll go see a gynecologist and get the real deal pills. My question is: what are the most reliable birth control pills you can grab over the counter without a prescription? Just to be clear—this is strictly a short-term backup because we're in a bit of a crunch. Safety is everything here.
Any constructive advice would be a huge help! 😁
