Nathan Baker said:She hasn't seen anyone yet. The doctor basically told her there was no need to come in. What's your take on that?

She was there, because I lost my temper and told her someone better pack up at the doctor's office or I'll handle it myself.

He performed a pregnancy test, which came back negative, and advised her to wait a little longer since he'd prefer things to happen naturally...🤷

Since you all seem intent on arguing about something, the least you could do is actually read my post properly, as everything is laid out right there...

If my doc told me everything was fine, but I actually felt like something was off, I’d either switch doctors or just head to a private specialist for a second opinion on the
exam.

Personally, I can't help but feel there's a crack in this narrative somewhere. And just like you, I find it impossible to believe that a mature, responsible woman wouldn't have sought medical attention within a five-month window. Something just doesn't add up.

What exactly doesn't add up? 😕

Are you even reading his posts??? Can't you see he’s already mentioned a couple of times that she went to the OB-GYN??

Kate James21, just go out there and see what she has to say. Once you figure out exactly what’s going on, you can start handling things step by step. Good luck! 😉

So, she’s headed back to his office next week. If he just sends her home again, we’re switching OB-GYNs immediately, because we aren't children who can be brushed off...😉

It’s been 35 days since I stopped taking the pill. I told myself if my period doesn't show up in the next 3-4 weeks, I’m definitely heading to the doctor for a checkup. I’m not letting them skip an ultrasound on my first visit either—my health is way too important to me!

My period has been completely MIA for three full months now since I stopped taking the pill. Given my hormonal issues and PCOS, I suppose it was somewhat expected.
Still, you really should be checking in regularly with a gynecologist about this. If any doubts arise, or if you just feel uneasy about what your doctor is telling you, there is absolutely nothing wrong with seeking a second opinion from another specialist.
🙂

Understood. 👍 Of course she didn't want to go, considering her gynecologist basically told her there was nothing to worry about and that she didn't even need to show up. He’s the doctor, after all. She trusted his word...🤷

But the whole situation started smelling fishy to me, and I've spoken up about it several times...

It really just depends on the person, right? Some people totally trust their doctor, while others are super paranoid and feel like they have to double-check everything

I'm definitely in that second camp 😬

Really hoping they figure out what's actually bugging her 🙂

I hope so too, and I'll be sure to post the results here once we know more. Thanks for all the input 🙂 🙂

Kate James21 and Nathan Baker, enough with the back-and-forth. Take this as a warning; anyone who keeps this tone up is getting a card. Thanks.

Second thing, Kate James21, you didn't mention if her doctor actually did an ultrasound. If they haven't, that’s basically step one, right? Get an ultrasound to check the ovaries, then run the hormone panels and talk to the doc about next steps. Maybe she has PCOS—that’s my first thought, anyway, though I could be wrong. I don't get why her doctor hasn't even done an ultrasound yet. Does her OBGYN even have one on-site? My insurance-provided doctor doesn't, so I always have to get a referral just to head to the hospital for imaging.

Look, I know switching doctors through insurance isn't exactly easy, but if her OBGYN keeps insisting everything is fine when she hasn't had a period in over five months—and isn't even trying to find out why—I'd say it might be time to hunt for a new doctor.

Copperraven53, I already told Nathan Baker quite clearly that I have no interest in further arguing here and certainly no desire to collect strikes, and if he wants to continue this debate, he can reach out via email. Haven't I made that clear? 🙂

The clinic has an ultrasound machine and everything, but as for why they haven't used it yet, I honestly don't know... 🙂 This time they will perform the scan, and if they refuse, she can simply find another provider, and that would be the end of it. 😉

I don't get why everyone's acting shocked that she went to the OBGYN and didn't even get a proper exam. Honestly, seeing how many idiots are out there in that profession doesn't surprise me one bit.

When my cousin went to her gynecologist for the first time, the doctor didn't run a single test, even though my cousin mentioned having discharge and needing to wear daily pads constantly. The doctor's response? "Oh, that's perfectly normal." 🙂

I’m past being surprised by doctors at this point. Most of them couldn't care less about their patients' health; they're just looking for ways to cut corners on insurance referrals and save a buck.

@GoGs It sounds like it's probably some kind of hormonal imbalance. If that doctor doesn't follow up with everything necessary—like an ultrasound, blood work for reproductive hormones, thyroid levels, and all that—she needs to find a new doctor immediately. This guy clearly isn't taking her seriously.

So, since there’s an ultrasound on file, next time just demand she actually does it. Some OB-GYNs—like how Lee Lee2 said—love to cut corners on referrals or equipment. Honestly, a ton of girls on this forum have dealt with that exact same thing. But once patients actually stand their ground and insist on the scans or exams, they usually cave. If they don't? Yeah, maybe it's time to find a new doctor.

I guess her gin will turn out alright in the end. Fingers crossed!

I’ve been on Yaz for about a month and a half now. I was on it a year ago, took a break, and decided to start up again. Everything is being monitored by my gynecologist and all that,
.
Basically, I’ve noticed I’m becoming incredibly sensitive, prone to crying, and just plain hysterical. For instance, I got into an argument with my boyfriend; normally, I wouldn't give it a second thought because it wasn't anything major, but instead, I spent the entire day overanalyzing everything, teetering on the edge of tears and feeling completely anxious. I know I acted this way when I was on them last time, though back then I just blamed it on having a bad relationship; now I realize it’s more or less due to the pills. And I honestly don't know what to do. I need birth control because without it, my periods are irregular or non-existent, and I can't stand using condoms. On the other hand, if I stay on these pills, I feel like I’m going to alienate everyone in my life and lose my mind in the process. Is there some sort of adjustment period where things settle down, or should I look into other options like the ring, a patch, or something similar? Before switching to Yaz, I was taking Yasmin, but I was in an even worse headspace then, so I felt like I was making progress on Yaz—but now, I just feel.. 😢.

Are you actually going to try that? As if having even fewer hormones would somehow be the solution, or whatever other nonsense they're peddling now?

I finally realized yesterday that the adjustment period lasts about three months, so I’ll push through another month and see how things settle then..

I've been on Celestol for a month and a half now. I did a stint with it a year ago, took a break, and decided to jump back in. Everything is being monitored by my gynecologist, blah, blah, blah.

Mostly, I’ve noticed I’m becoming disgustingly sensitive, tearful, and hysterical. I had a fight with my boyfriend today—normally, I wouldn't give it a second thought since it wasn't anything serious—but instead, I've spent the entire day overanalyzing everything, hovering on the edge of tears, and feeling completely anxious. I know I was like this last time I took them, but back then I blamed it on a bad relationship. Now I see it's more or less because of the pill. I have no idea what to do. I need the pill because without it, my cycle is irregular and I can't stand condoms. On the other hand, if I stay on them, I feel like I'm going to drive myself insane and push everyone around me away. Is there an adjustment period? Will I settle down soon, or should I try a different method, like the ring, the patch, or something else? Before switching to Yaz, I was using Yasmin, but I was in an even worse state then; I actually felt like I was making progress on Yaz. But now? I just feel... pathetic. 😢.

I don't even know what to tell you. It looks like we’re stuck with the exact same problem.😕

I’ve been on Celest for about two and a half years now. Lately, I’ve noticed a pattern: I’m constantly sad. And more than that, I’m combative. I find myself picking fights, then feeling terrible about it, then breaking down in tears—only to repeat the entire cycle all over again. It’s exhausting. I’m planning to switch brands soon; right now, it’s the only contraceptive option I can realistically manage.

I don't know. Pills are the only thing I can actually trust to be safe, but they’re absolutely wrecking my mental state.😢

So, after three and a half years, I ended up ditching Triquilar way sooner than I planned. Honestly, by the end of the course, I was getting super cranky and irritable—just totally wasn't feeling like myself at all...
