Just $3.25 😳
Usually, Yaz is around $50 😬 and Qlaira is about the same, I guess.

Does anyone have any information on Yasmin? I can't seem to track them down online, and when I last had them, I recall they were roughly $30?

They don't even prescribe Diane anymore for birth control—not really. It’s mostly just used for PCOS or hormone imbalances these days. Honestly, those pills are incredibly intense. Don't even think about trying to track them down. They just throw your entire system into total chaos. I remember a friend back in Chicago who tried to get her hands on them, and let's just say her body felt like a battlefield for months. Just... be careful.
I think Yasmin is 118, if I recall correctly. Anyway, everything from Bayer has gone up in price. Everything. It’s just one thing after another lately.
John Thomas2, have you ever actually listened to Lyndinette? They’re really something else. Just... wow. $10 It’s about $70 if you get them on a private prescription, though the cost changes if they're covered under a standard insurance script. They usually come in two different dosages—either 20 or 30.

I have been on birth control since 2008, starting with Yasmin and later switching to Cilest. I took a break for a few months back in 2010 before resuming at the start of 2011. That hiatus was simply because I wasn't seeing anyone at the time, making the medication unnecessary, though I should note that during those six months, my period didn't occur unless prompted by a gynecologist. Recently, over the last few months, I have noticed a significant drop in my libido; even yesterday, despite feeling the desire and reaching climax, I felt absolutely no physical arousal whatsoever. This leads me to conclude that the issue isn't purely psychological—the drive is there, but the pills are clearly interfering with the physical response. I am wondering if it would be more prudent to take another break or perhaps switch to a different brand entirely. Aside from this, I haven't had any major issues; my libido was excellent on both Yasmin and Cilest, though I transitioned to Cilest because Yasmin left me feeling quite depressed.
What is my best course of action? 😢 I want my libido back.
I didn't quite catch which pills you're currently on...
But, personally, I've tried both Yasmin and Cilest—Yasmin gave me these absolutely brutal headaches, while Cilest basically sent my sex drive into a total coma.
Most recently, I was on Loestrin, and honestly, they were fantastic right up until the very end.
The thing is, I haven't been on any birth control for about three months now because my last three or four periods have only lasted a day or two and were incredibly light, so I finally decided to call it quits.

It’s actually great timing that you posted, as I just got back from my OB-GYN and picked up some Logest😁 after being on Cilest for a while. I saw the thread about Logest earlier and everyone seemed to be complaining, which had me feeling a bit anxious, so I'm relieved to hear yours worked well. However, I’ve run into a bit of a dilemma. I assumed I could just transition smoothly, much like when I switched from Yaz to Cilest. I took my last pill on Thursday and started my period on Monday, so I figured I should start the new pack on Friday. But the instructions say to start immediately after the primary pills without a break. I forgot to clarify this with my doctor, so I gave him a quick call, and he told me to start them today 😕 but the pamphlet says:
You may begin taking Logest film-coated tablets the day after taking the last tablet from your previous pack (meaning there is no break when taking these tablets). If your current pack contains inactive tablets, you may begin taking Logest film-coated tablets the day after the last active tablet (if you are unsure, consult your physician or pharmacist). You may also begin taking the tablets later, but never later than one day after the break in your current tablets(or the day after the last inactive tablet from your current pack)
I don't quite grasp the bolded part 🤷 regarding how I can start "later" but still not later than one day. It's a bit confusing. On top of that, my doctor's advice seems to contradict the paperwork. When exactly should I start? Part of me wants to just go buy another box of Cilest, finish that, and then switch to the Logest I bought today 🙄 because I really don't want to mess with my cycle; the current timing works perfectly for me.

My gynecologist tends to talk quite fast, so I constantly find myself forgetting to ask him all these details. I actually brought up Lyndinette when he was writing my prescription for Logest, and he mentioned that Lyndinette isn't prescribed for contraception. It wasn't until I got home that I realized that clearly implies they are prescribed for women dealing with menstrual irregularities. Since I didn't start taking pills primarily for protection but rather to manage my cycle issues, I could have easily just asked him to switch the script and call it a day. But instead, I'll just be stuck paying full price for these pills.$27 🙂

I'm not sure where he gets that from; a friend of mine is on Lyndinette and takes them strictly for birth control. 🤷

I’ve spent the entire day scrolling through this forum, reading endless threads about how gynecologists are mass-prescribing these various generic pills instead of Logest, simply because the ingredients are identical and they cost a fraction of the price. Yet, despite all this chatter, my doctor saw fit to prescribe me the Logest anyway. Now, I find myself sitting here at the end of the day, feeling as jittery as a nervous wreck, completely unsure whether I should take them now or just wait. It’s frustrating. When you actually have the luxury of time, everything seems fine, but ninety percent of the time, life is a frantic rush. Since I don't see a private specialist, I'm stuck with the clinic, where the doctor basically breezes through the appointment in two and a half minutes, leaving me too overwhelmed to ever ask the questions I actually intended to pose.

Basically, if you took your last pill of Cilest today, you start the Logest tomorrow. Or, at the very latest, the day after...
I remember my OB-GYN telling me that once you finish your week-long break, you just transition straight from Cilest to Logest. It threw me for a loop because the instructions in the box say something entirely different. I ended up just following my doctor's lead—mostly because I wanted to keep my period on the same predictable schedule—and everything turned out fine. We were also a little extra careful with protection that month, just to be safe. 😳

Wait, so they don't prescribe them for contraception?? I'm taking them preventatively for that exact reason—that's why the doctor gave them to me in the first place... 🙂

Actually, that’s exactly what I was hoping he would say, because having my period align with that specific day works incredibly well for me. I didn't end up taking my pill today, so I'll either start a new pack following your method, or I'll just grab another box of Cilest and then move onto Logest without any gap at all. My last dose of Cilest was actually last Thursday. 😉

Alright, I’ve officially hit my limit with this supplement and I'm done. I don't want to touch it anymore. I can't even finish this current box—I'm only halfway through. I'm wondering if it's okay to just stop mid-pack, and if there will be any fallout from quitting abruptly like this...

So, I’ve been on Diane 35 for quite a while now, and honestly, I feel way better on them than any other brand I've tried. But then, after being consistent for about a week, I ended up missing my doses for three days... and today, I had this awful breakthrough bleeding along with some really intense nausea and pain.
I called my OB-GYN, and they basically told me the best move would be to just toss this pack and wait until my next period starts before beginning a brand new one. The problem is, since I won't be taking the Diane anymore, I have absolutely no idea when my next cycle will actually show up. And knowing my luck, it’ll probably be incredibly painful again. 🙂
Has anyone else ever dealt with something like this?
EDIT: I don't know, part of me really feels like I should just keep taking them. :/

I’ve been on Lindinette 20 for about 5 months now—and during this break, my period just didn't show up. I took two pregnancy tests, both came back negative. I actually already started the new pack about 7 days ago... so there's that. My doctor mentioned this can happen sometimes, but—honestly—why me? Has anyone else dealt with something similar?

Got my period today, so I need to start on the pill. Should I just take the first one now since it's day one, or does the fact that it's almost midnight mean I should wait until tomorrow? I'm only taking them to fix my cycle and stop these sore breasts.

Please, someone tell me... should I just keep going anyway??

I went through that with Celestol. Don't even bother asking if you should keep going—within three days, those damn pills basically take over your whole system. It’s pointless. An old doctor once told me if I missed a dose, just double up the next day, or if I had breakthrough bleeding, take a double dose. I didn't listen. As for that bleeding, is it just your period? Just look at what day it is, count 28 days, and that's usually when it hits.😉For me, my breasts get incredibly sore two weeks before my period starts. Honestly, just toss them. Wait for your next cycle. Your protection isn't even reliable anymore. And if you're only taking them to deal with painful periods, just suck it up, take an Advil, and call it a day.😉

Maybe I'm responding too late, but if it were me, I'd probably just take it right after my period started—say, around 11 PM—and then stick to that same time every night.
If not, I guess you could just start tomorrow morning and keep taking them at the same time every morning (like 8 or 9 AM). 🙂

I didn't take anything because I was clueless. The cramps started at 10, but my period didn't actually show up until noon. Now I'm sitting here wondering if I should even bother taking them?🤷
