If I had sex on Sunday, can I just stop taking my pills on Thursday? Does that mean I wouldn't need to buy a new pack?

Also, I'm wondering if anything happens if you have sex and then stop the pills the very next day (assuming you've been on them for a while)?

So, for some reason, I started taking birth control pills (Novynette).
My gynecologist told me to start on the first day of my period, so that’s what I did—but now I haven't stopped bleeding for 24 days straight.
I called her, and she just said this can happen when you're on your first pack, and to call back if the bleeding continues into the second pack.

But honestly, that’s not even the part that’s messing with my head.
What’s actually bothering me is that my period completely stopped right when it was supposed to show up in the first place.
I’m supposed to start the second pack in two days, and still... nothing.
I’d ask my doctor, but she’s out on vacation for another week, and since I live in a tiny town, I don't exactly have a huge selection of specialists to choose from...🙂
I did have sex while on the pill and the day after my last pill.
I've been super disciplined about taking them at the exact same time every single day.

I’m wondering if any of you have dealt with something similar? How did it all turn out for you?😁

I’m going through the exact same thing. I started my first pack of Lindynette 20 on April 2nd, right on the first day of my cycle.
And I’m still bleeding.🙄

I have a question.
I’ve been taking my pills very regularly and quite strictly for two months now; I haven't missed a single day, nor have I taken them at the wrong time, I suppose.
Today, my boyfriend finished inside me for the first time, and I think I might be in my fertile window.
I did take my regular pill last night.
Is there any chance that I could end up pregnant?

Oh sure, you're definitely pregnant. I mean, you're taking those pills religiously, but it was clearly your fertile window... so you must be some kind of miracle worker.☕

If you're on the pill and actually taking it correctly, there is no ovulation. 😉

I’d have asked her why she takes those pills.

Seriously...? 🙂

I have a question; if I intentionally skip my last active pill and start taking four placebos instead, will that affect my protection four days from now?
thanks for the answer 🙂

I’m right there with you on this! Honestly, the idea of popping these pills scares the hell out of me because of the side effects, but then I look in the mirror and realize my skin issues are just as terrifying. It's a catch-22. From what I’ve gathered while reading up on this, these are supposed to be the "mild" ones, but even then, they aren't exactly designed for women who weigh more than, say, 110 pounds. Since I’m sitting at around 155, I can't help but wonder if I'm overstepping the safety zone here. 🙂 I’m pretty sure birth control isn't exactly a magic fix for everything, but I'm curious—can it actually mess with my mood?

That pill isn't really about protection—it's more about regulating your cycle.

Fine, whatever. If it stops ovulation, then it’s doing its job. My period is perfectly regular anyway, so that part doesn't bother me. I'm asking strictly because of my skin—my acne has basically turned into a full-blown medical condition since I'm long past puberty.

Hey ladies 🙂>

So, I wanted to share my overall experience with the birth control I was on for six whole years... I was using Logest and Lindynette 20. To put it bluntly, as much as they help us out, they can really mess you up too... at least in my case. Right from the jump, I started dealing with constant bladder infections, and then, every single month, without fail, yeast infections. My gynecologist never once suggested that the pills were the culprit; instead, he just kept prescribing these vaginal treatments that didn't do squat because the yeast would just crawl right back every month... 🙂 but eventually, I decided to just quit cold turkey because a little voice inside my head was like, "Whoa, hold on! Enough is enough!!" 😂
And honestly, it was the best move I ever made... those disgusting infections finally cleared up, and so did the bladder issues... ☕>

I only signed up here just so I could ask a question because I’m losing my mind and honestly don't know who else to turn to. My period started on the 4th and went until the 14th, totally normal... but then it just stopped, and two days later this brown discharge showed up. It ranges from really dark brown to light brown, just a few drops a day, basically just staining a liner. I've also been getting occasional pains in my left ovary. I went to my OBGYN on Monday; she did a Pap smear and a pelvic exam, but since that weird discharge had cleared up by then and turned back to a normal yellowish tint, she didn't do an ultrasound. I asked for one, but she brushed me off since my last scan three months ago was fine. She didn't feel anything during the manual exam, either. To be honest, she was pretty rough when doing the Pap, and it actually hurt for the first time—could that cause bleeding? Just a heads-up, I had some brown discharge during my fertile window last month too, but that lasted maybe 4 or 5 days, whereas this has been going on for 10. I've never had mid-month spotting like this before. My previous diagnoses include PCOS on the left side (which I can feel occasionally now), though I've never had cysts larger than 3x3 mm, and those always just burst during my period. Also, my HPV tests have been negative for CIN over the last six months—they cleared up on their own. My doctor wants me to start birth control next month, but since this is happening now, I might skip that.Could I actually start the birth control right now, while I'm dealing with this brown discharge?I'm sexually active, but I've ruled out pregnancy. I should probably mention I've been getting headaches for the last two months and I've lost about 6 pounds, plus I've just been feeling super jittery and anxious. Sorry for the novel, I'm just hoping some kind soul can answer me because this anxiety is absolutely killing me.

Brownish discharge right in the middle of your cycle might suggest an anovulatory cycle—which, I suppose, is fairly common for those dealing with PCOS. Those cysts (basically immature follicles) associated with PCOS tend to come and go, or rather, they rupture.
HPV positive, but no CIN findings in the last six months, which cleared up on their own

What exactly "cleared up"? Generally speaking, results from a Pap smear don't have much to do with your menstrual cycle—you know, hormones, ovarian function, and that sort of thing.
My doctor gave me birth control to start next month, but since things have started acting up, maybe I won't even get to it. Could I perhaps start the contraception now, while I'm having this brown discharge?

You really ought to follow the instructions exactly as they were given to you—not while you're experiencing mid-cycle discharge. 😉

So, here’s the situation—how does this sound? I’ve got an endometriotic cyst measuring about 3.5cm, and because life just keeps getting in the way with everything we have going on, we’ve decided to push back the laparoscopy for about nine months. My OB-GYN prescribed Yaz pills to manage things, but I haven't actually started taking them yet. Tomorrow morning, I have to get my liver enzymes checked, along with a few other tests, just to see if I'm even cleared to start the medication. But lately, I’ve been wondering if there might be some underlying hormonal imbalance at play—specifically because I’ve started breaking out with acne strictly on the right side of my face. My doctor says it’s probably not a hormonal issue since my cycles are regular, but I can't help feeling suspicious. If it turns out I *do* have a hormonal imbalance, should I be asking for full hormone panel testing before I commit to the birth control?

Hey there.
I messed up. I was supposed to start my pack of Lindynetta last night, but it completely slipped my mind to pick them up. I’m heading to my local pharmacy this morning, but apparently, their shipment doesn't arrive until this afternoon. 🙂
So, what's the move? Should I just wait and start once they arrive, or should I just skip this month entirely?🙂

Honestly, it shouldn't matter too much. It's happened to me before... just take them as soon as you can grab them. 😉

Thanks for getting back to me. 😉
I checked with the pharmacist earlier. She just said it varies from pill to pill and we’ll have to wait until the box actually arrives to know for sure. My doctor hasn't returned my calls, so I can't really count on her right now. 🙄
It’ll probably be fine, though my birth control might be a little less reliable for a bit...

No worries at all :-)
Your body is already swimming in hormones anyway, so honestly, missing one day shouldn't really throw things out of whack... 😉

Took the pill and read through the instructions. Need to use backup contraception for the next seven days, then everything's back to normal. 😁
