I’m on Triquilar..
With my last pack, things went sideways. I had diarrhea about two hours after taking the pill... followed by vomiting a few hours later. I took the dose around midnight... then the next day, I took another at 1 PM thinking the first hadn't been absorbed, plus another one that evening... basically, I finished the pack a day early, on Thursday instead of Friday. Normally, my period arrives four days after finishing, so Tuesday. But since I shifted everything forward, I assumed it would show up today, Monday... yet nothing? Should I be worried or just wait until tomorrow? My boyfriend didn't finish inside, just to be safe..

For me, the start of bleeding can vary anywhere from Saturday morning to Sunday night. 😬 I'm also on Triquilar.

Hey there,

I’ve got a bit of a situation weighing on my mind. About two months ago, right after taking my Trinovum during the second week, I ended up throwing up shortly after. Since there was a chance the pill hadn't actually been absorbed, I went ahead and took a second one. Now, I’m staring at my pack and realizing I’m missing that specific pill from week two. The thing is, while I can technically just go buy more locally using my prescription, it turns out that script is only valid at one specific pharmacy in town.

So, here is what I'm wondering: would it be a bigger mistake to just skip a single day of my cycle, or should I just finish the pack early and take them for 20 days instead of the full 21? Obviously, for the next two weeks, we'd be using condoms as extra protection anyway. 🙂

Thanks in advance! 🙂

Just carry on as if everything is perfectly normal during those twenty days... as though nothing ever happened and there isn't a single problem to be found.

Just a little bit off-topic here—does Trinovum still actually prescribe for women?
I mean, I’ve been taking it for over ten years now, and I honestly thought they might have pulled it from the market or something... especially since there are other pills out there with much lower hormone doses available these days...

It flows on and on... I suppose I’m drinking it myself, and I find it to be quite alright, I guess...

Can I ask a question that’s probably been asked before? I just haven't seen an answer to it yet (sorry if I missed it!).
What actually happens if a woman gets pregnant but doesn't realize it and keeps taking birth control pills for another few weeks or a month? Will standard pregnancy symptoms show up? Won't there be a period during the break? And what happens to the embryo?
Also, what about pregnancy tests? Will they come back positive because the body thinks it's pregnant while on the pill (that's how they work, right?), or will they still be negative?

If someone actually finds themselves in that situation—which, honestly, sounds incredibly rare—they’d likely suspect something is up when their period doesn't arrive during the pill break. They'd take a test, and it should give a totally accurate result. Basically, if she isn't pregnant, it'll be negative; if she is, it'll be positive, regardless of whether she was still popping those pills. Once it turns out she is pregnant, she’d stop the medication immediately and head to her OB-GYN. From there, the doctor can refer her to specialists who run tests to check on the health of the fetus—you know, to see if the extra hormones had any impact on the development.

No worries at all 😉
Basically, cases like that are—as I mentioned before—extremely rare

Has anyone else noticed their sleep getting totally messed up while on birth control? Like, could there actually be a connection? Ever since I started taking Diane35, I feel like my sleep quality has taken a serious dive compared to before... though, to be fair, I was never exactly a champion sleeper to begin with.

It’s actually the complete opposite for me—since I started taking them, I feel like I could sleep twenty-four hours a day.🙂

I'm trying to get some sleep too 🙂; but honestly, when I actually head to bed, falling asleep is such a struggle... I just feel all tense and cramped up all night long, and I keep waking up. And I noticed—this might sound kind of silly, but—I end up kicking my legs around... I never used to do that before I started the pills.

So—I’ve got a question. If anyone here deals with similar stuff, I could really use some advice or an answer.

I’ve been on Yasmin for two and a half years now. No side effects at all, except for my blood clotting levels being slightly elevated.
Then, four months ago, I started having stomach issues for the very first time. A gastroscopy confirmed it’s gastritis and GERD.
The doctor put me on Controloc, which works great, but I’ve noticed I get nauseous evvveery single month during the first ten days of taking Yasmin. Is it actually possible that after two years, Yasmin is making these stomach and esophagus symptoms worse?

Thanks in advance!! 🙂>

They definitely haven't pulled it...
Honestly, hardly any women are using it these days..
It's covered by insurance through the state health system. Some women really do need those higher doses because they deal with breakthrough bleeding...
Plus, Trinovum is pretty much the budget option, so that might be a factor for some people...
Either way, if a lower-dose contraceptive works better for someone—whether it's about the dosage or just the price tag—they should probably go with that. 👍

I don’t know if this is just my luck or how things work for everyone else, but my gynecologist basically operated on the "shotgun approach" with Trinovum—just hand it out to everyone first and then start looking for alternatives if it doesn't stick. Personally, I haven't actually had any issues with them yet, but I can't help but obsess over potential side effects, which has me staring down the barrel of switching to Logest. My doctor already handed me the prescription, but now I'm stuck in this mental loop wondering if I should just make the jump to Logest or play it safe and stick with Trinovum since it hasn't given me grief so far. Any thoughts? 🙂)

So, here’s my take on things to get me in on the conversation...
I’ve been on Loest since about a year and three months ago... during those first two months, I was crying constantly, and the headaches were just brutal—the same thing happened to two of my girlfriends who also started Loest... My chest actually grew from a size B to a massive D; people were even making snide comments, joking that I’d gone under the knife, haha. I also put on about five or six pounds around my hips and stomach, but honestly, I don't mind it; I think it looks lovely when a woman has some curves... I read somewhere that Loest completely kills your libido, but I haven't had any issues there; if anything, it feels heightened, like I can never quite get enough 🙂 I did have some frightening sharp pains around my heart and in my legs, though it turns out it wasn't the birth control. It was actually a potassium deficiency, which was causing spasms in my heart muscle... apparently, potassium and magnesium are absolute lifesavers 🙂 The only thing I’ve truly noticed is that I’ve become much more irritable and high-strung since starting Loest, so... that’s all from me... I’m curious if any of you taking Loest
have dealt with similar stuff...

I started out on Diane-35 and now I'm looking at Logest—I haven't actually started taking it yet because, frankly, I'm a little terrified.

I was on Diane-35 for a few years, and my chest is a solid C—Diane didn't change my size at all. Now, I'm staring at this Logest prescription and I'm genuinely nervous. I'm worried the weight gain or the breast enlargement will hit me hard, and while I don't have a huge tummy, my hips are naturally wider... I've got curves already, so I don't need extra volume. Honestly, the idea of taking Logest scares me. But, logically speaking, if I didn't have issues with Diane, shouldn't I be fine with this one too? Is that how it works?

With my Trinovum, my gums have gotten a bit swollen, and honestly, that’s just how it goes. I notice mood swings every now and then too, but they usually hit right before my period starts. Since these tablets are working fine for me, I think I’ll skip switching over to Logest; the risk of breakthrough bleeding just isn't worth it, and I really don't feel like messing with my system by adding yet another third medication into the mix... 🙂

Well, look, I'm 19 and still developing, mostly because I was a late bloomer in everything—from getting my period (around age 16) to my physical growth, haha. But two of my close friends didn't see any changes at all, neither in weight nor in their bust size... I suppose it just comes down to how your individual body reacts to things. Plus, I have a bit of a sweet tooth, which might be why I gained those extra five or six pounds while on the pills. Usually, I can manage my weight perfectly fine, but once I start them, I find it impossible to stop eating for a week. Overall, I think the medication works great for me, though I do get a little more irritable than usual... luckily, my boyfriend is used to it and understands me...

uhm, okay... let me just drop this here without starting a whole new thread...
So, I've been on Yasmin for a while now, but my dermatologist told me today that I really ought to switch over to Diane-35, since apparently, it works better for acne. Great, right? But then she tells me I should finish this current pack of Yasmin, take a standard seven-day break, and then start the new cycle using the different pills. My doctor is saying something totally different, though—she says I should just start the new ones on day 22, skipping the break entirely! And now I’m just sitting here completely lost 😕

Also, quick question... does Diane-35 actually have the same contraceptive efficacy? Like, is there any chance of side effects when making the switch? Honestly, I have no clue what to do anymore
