The mayor's memo about Brooklyn; looks like we can actually hit the beach this summer since construction won't start until fall.

- Permits should be ready soon. We want to put out the bid for contractors in April, but I'm guessing there will be some appeals. We might have a contractor by July, but it’s probably not a good idea to start heavy work during peak season. So, the plan is to kick things off after the summer ends, Adams explained.

He also mentioned he'll check with the mayor's office to see if local businesses in Brooklyn can stay open this season.

If they can make that work, Adams said the city agency will run a bidding process so vendors can secure their spots.

The goal is to fund the Brooklyn redevelopment project in two stages—60 percent through an international bank loan and 40 percent from grants. The whole thing is valued at $35 million.

Yeah, I noticed they suddenly dropped those announcements this morning too. Honestly, let’s just wait a bit longer—maybe they'll eventually release everything from the Democratic Party. But even then, that wasn't really my main point; it's more about the fact that they're creating cushy roles that aren't even necessary. Plus, it hasn't even been a full year since the last round of new oversight boards was voted in, and here we go again. Like I said before, there's just a lot of redundant bureaucracy starting to pile up.

A local news outlet in San Francisco is reporting that this whole hiring process is actually just a formality to turn temporary contractors into permanent employees, claiming these positions are already effectively filled.
I'm not sure how accurate that is.

As for why it's not on the website yet, it seems like the standard procedure is to wait until it hits the Federal Register first, and only then does it show up online. That's pretty typical for federal agencies.

Oh, really? Sure thing. Yeah, word on the street is that at SOME places, people are already on the job and this is all just a formality. Honestly, let's wait for those big announcements about "transparency" for the oversight boards; I bet you anything that's just a massive PR stunt.
Regarding the situation in San Francisco, look, it's a total scam. First, they said everything would kick off in August 2022, then they just moved the goalposts repeatedly, and now we've got this unpublished loan drama and all that nonsense. Even the World Bank hasn't greenlit anything yet. But honestly, what fascinates me most right now is this move over in the coastal district where everyone's supposedly "trusting" our investor, our favorite former banker. Go ahead, Google him, and you'll see all the shady stuff involving that specific group and whatever else. Man, wouldn't anyone love Tea Vojkovica ❤️? If someone were willing to actually list out every single disaster that falls directly under the responsibility of the city administration, it would be crystal clear that they are, to put it mildly, completely lost in the fog. They aren't any better or different from the rest of them. I gave up on them a long time ago, so at this point, I don't even care. 🤣

🤣

It's funny how people talk about competence.

The guy used to run the utility company, where his departure was slated for 2021, before moving on to lead the municipal water department. For years, he promised us a new filtration system. Now, whenever we get heavy rain, we’re stuck drinking unfiltered water.

Think about the health issues and the financial mess this individual has caused. 🤔

Hang in there.
It seems like the main opposition isn't just the local Republican Party, but rather the major media conglomerates and state institutions that act like they own the place—they'll try to take him down whenever they get the chance. ☕

Like I already said. You know that abandoned single-story building—the one that used to be a cafe (right on the corner at 17 Main Street, back when it was a local hangout)? Well, a hotel is going up there. The developer is some big-shot former banker—just Google his footprint, he's the guy behind that Harmony Villa project near the coast. Now, according to the official city bulletin, they just got the green light for geotechnical anchoring, which is basically code for digging out massive parking garages for this future hotel. Here’s the kicker: with permits like these, if they mess up the sewage or power lines during construction, someone usually gets held liable. But in this case? Everything is being handled "under the table" so everything stays friendly. What does that mean? It means if anything actually breaks, we're the ones footing the bill. Honestly, it’s insane how the whole area from the Boardwalk to the coast is turning into a damn hotel chain in the near future.

So, there’s residential construction listed in the zoning code? Fine, whatever... but is it really the Mayor's job to be micromanaging all that stuff?

velvetmason14 said:Yeah, from what I saw, they posted it right on the city website immediately—it’s not just in the official register. No need to go full conspiracy theorist right out of the gate.
It's cool they're bringing in new blood, but honestly? I doubt there'll be a feeding frenzy for more positions. The pay is pretty mid and you're basically walking into a total disaster zone of a work environment.

Now I'm seeing on the site that the Mayor's social media is being run by that shady guy Negotić. I really hope the Mayor is smart enough to ask some questions, because this is embarrassing. I actually know a guy through family—this dude is as dim as a broken bulb, and he's got that whole shady political pedigree.

Negotić is everywhere.
He's useful for every single power play—you hit the nail on the head, he's clueless.
The Mayor actually caught me off guard when he let him go.

One day the headlines claim everyone is fleeing the administration, then the next day they’re shouting about how much it's thriving.🤣

The local activists who act like they own the place are clearly lost trying to keep up with the new leadership's decisions.

It’s no surprise that the old guard, along with their Republican Party cronies, got spooked that some fresh energy might actually disrupt their cozy little system of political favors.😁

THE ADMINISTRATION IS GROWING
The Mayor is adding six more permanent staff members; they're looking for five senior advisors and one clerk.

And who actually oversees what that Department does? Using that logic, we might as well just accept whatever excuses some random politician makes when they claim they "can't know everything." Seriously? The administration is directly responsible for how its departments function. Period.
It’s such a shame about this woman—she’s honestly one of the better council members. Calm, thorough, and actually gets things done. Check out what she had to say regarding working with the administration: 'There isn't much difference whether you support him or not, because he just does whatever he thinks is best.'

... and now she’ll be spending the next eight years sharing all that expertise and insight with Kamala Harris and John Doe over at the Federal Election Commission.

She’s been relentless when it comes to rooting out cronyism and looking out for her city, San Francisco...

I feel for her, honestly.

Well, I actually feel bad for her. Honestly, it doesn't even matter which party you support—most of these city council members are acting more like clowns than actual officials these days. This woman has always been thorough, working behind the scenes without all the flashy PR stunts or populist tantrums. You see it all the time: once those ruling party council members finally get a seat at the table, they suddenly act like they don't even understand how things work, let alone how to actually comment or take action. Let's be clear, Most isn't my party, but this woman did good work.

Nah, all she did was confirm that those "saviors" are nothing but liars and manipulators. It was honestly sad watching them fall apart and lie yesterday over at Znjan. He's halfway through his term already, yet he's still acting like he's building walls around his own little kingdom—just broken promises everywhere.

Exactly. We need to bring back honest, capable leaders with Šut at the helm. The guy has proven himself in everything he touches—from handling Lećevica to cleaning up the local environment. He’s protected people's health and preserved our nature. As for the finances, the results speak for themselves.

2025. here we cooome... 😁

Prkić nailed it here.

PRKIĆ ON TRAFFIC: We all need to lead by example and show that a car isn't actually as essential as we think

It honestly breaks my heart. It’s devastating to see someone so calm, quiet, and unassuming—a critic who spent years fighting for her hometown—move to a massive metropolis just to scrape by in that prestigious institution on a measly $1,500 a month.

If that doesn't mean anything, then nothing does. I feel nothing but sadness for Ljulj, such a quiet warrior against the corruption and cronyism.

You, me, and Slobodan are all on the same page here.

The only people to blame if the old guard or those corrupt types ever claw their way back into power is Puljak himself. After all this time, someone new finally got a shot, and he’s doing absolutely nothing to prove they deserve it. Just a bunch of shallow PR stunts complaining about bureaucrats to suck up to the crowd, and that's it. It's the same old story—acting like everything is suddenly "transparent" when it comes to appointments, even though they were picked a year ago. 🙂He travels more than a damn influencer and lies through his teeth. Just yesterday over at Pujanko when the recycling center opened, he was out there acting like, ‘See, it’s just like a dumpster, it doesn't even smell,’ 🙂and don't even get me started on how pathetic the situation is in Znjan. The responsibility falls squarely on them because they're too blinded by their own ego to see anything past their own noses.
