You talk, I act. I've sliced up every single Russian mandarin orange in my kitchen and burned every Russian book I own. Alright, let's see what you have to say to that.

Not to mention the state of their civil institutions, the legal system, and all that other stuff.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up crossing the finish line right alongside them.

I guess I’m being way too optimistic here. I actually suggested a scenario where even a devastated Ukraine could hit its targets at the exact same time as us.

Sure, things are a mess right now, but this is such a high-profile conflict that Western aid for reconstruction seems almost certain. Beyond that, the war might actually force a faster pivot away from Russia's sphere of influence and trigger infrastructure reforms that wouldn't have happened otherwise. Plus, they have the natural resources. I’d also venture a guess that if the Russian military organization and political leadership maintain their current momentum, it might actually boost investment confidence once peace finally settles in.

Obviously, nobody has a crystal ball, and we don't know how this ends—luck and sheer coincidence play huge roles. But I don't find it impossible to imagine an accelerated recovery where Ukraine actually sees some economic upside from all this chaos over the medium term, similar to what we saw in post-WWII Europe.

Still, that's just me talking out loud and speculating. We'll see.

But if you look down in the comments, people are saying it was just some staffer at the consulate, not the actual consul themselves...

I honestly don't see it happening—either the Russians drop a nuke, or they just lose their grip on those territories and Crimea entirely. Their military can't even hold them down in a conventional war, so what happens if they actually go nuclear? What then? I guess you have to wonder why almost all those oligarchs with ties to the CIA got so incredibly rich in the first place. Maybe it was just so they could sit tight in bunkers way out past the Rocky Mountains or deep in Alaska... though I'm not so sure about that. My take? They’ll probably just keep some bases on Crimea, maybe give the Rust Belt area some sort of autonomy, and call it a day. Putin won't be around much longer...

Hilarious. Truly brilliant.
We are over here actually debating the war in Ukraine, while you’re busy boycotting everything with a Russian label.
It’s the same tired rhetoric the media pumps out—to me, it feels like nothing more than amateurish, proto-fascist hate-mongering.
The blame lies with Putin, his inner circle, and those who back him—but why on earth should we ban their writers or strip away their cultural heritage?
Think about how much these authors, thinkers, and humanists have contributed to the world. It is simply a tragedy that they are stuck under a regime of tyrants living in a place where the system resembles a concentration camp—totalitarianism and the crushing of all basic freedoms.

I swear on my life, I'm not going to attack Ukraine! And if I do attack it...

I'm going to drop the nuke, I swear to God! _________

Legally speaking, he’s a total traitor too.

Legally? Nah.

Just swap out "legally" for "in my opinion."

I doubt anyone is a bigger traitor than those currently fleeing Russia. 👍

As far as I know, Russia and Japan are still technically at war anyway...

The reservists finally showed up, only to be told they're on their own for gear. They’re basically being told to go out and buy their own body armor, helmets, and medical supplies because the military doesn't have a damn thing to give them. 😁

And now we’ve got another mobilized guy who died from a heart attack.

Let me be clear: I won't touch the nuclear button unless someone dares to strike Russia. Swear on my life.

But before that happens, you’re basically already pointing the finger at Russia as the target for the bomb, right? 🙂
