Does anyone know the drill for claiming a tax refund from Poland? I just received an IFT form detailing my salary breakdown for the 2020 tax year.
The folks at my local IRS office told me I need to fill out an Ino Doh form just so they can keep their own records updated.
On a separate note, if I'm looking to actually secure a tax refund from Poland, am I supposed to deal with the Polish authorities directly? My employer is based in Poland and I work remotely—I’ve never been in a more confusing situation, yet I'm still paying taxes to them. Does anyone here have any actual experience or insight into how this works? 🤔

Look, I don’t have any skin in the game here—this isn't some shady plug for an ad or anything—but there are definitely companies out there that handle all this for a cut of the refund.

For example, you could check out something like https://dendax.com/hr/drzave/poljska-povrat-poreza

Honestly, though, trying to tackle this without a middleman feels like a massive headache, so if you want to go solo, your best bet is to dig into their local government websites to see how they actually want the application submitted. You'll need to figure out if they even allow online filings or if you're stuck dealing with physical paperwork. It’s totally doable on your own, sure, but you really have to know exactly what documents you need and where they need to land...
