To give you some context, I work for a construction firm, and we currently have a job site located just outside of Austin.
Since my role requires me to visit this site periodically, if I cross the border and come back... am I required to enter a 14-day quarantine?
Furthermore, during that quarantine period, would I be permitted to travel specifically to that one job site near Austin—meaning, strictly that single route without visiting any other locations—and then return home to self-isolate?

I appreciate your help with this.

Based on how things work, it seems pretty obvious you'd have to quarantine.
But honestly, your best bet is to call the FBI or the emergency task force—someone who can actually give you official, definitive information (hopefully), rather than some half-baked advice from a forum.

She actually told the clerk there to make sure to disinfect the area after she left since the paper came from someone with the virus. Honestly, if I were her, I would have sued both the media and that branch for making such a massive scene before even checking the facts. The poor lady got screwed through no fault of her own; she was just doing a favor for her neighbors and gave a heads-up about disinfecting so nobody caught anything from the paperwork. Even if the paper had been sitting with her for three days and wouldn't have actually spread anything, it was still a thoughtful gesture.

Couldn't they have just used a scanner or even a smartphone camera? They could have called everyone involved in the paperwork trail beforehand to see if sending over a PDF or a JPEG would suffice, just to avoid these kinds of headaches in the first place.

You have to hover over them like they're small children because once the enemy becomes "invisible," they just don't grasp it. That's not the point at all. The point is that they went after a woman who did nothing wrong and was just trying to help someone. I could deal with the clerk panicking, but the media outlets broadcasting unverified info? Unacceptable. They'd be getting sued into oblivion if they targeted me like that. You should read the comments on those news sites; it's disgusting what kind of people we live among. If they had their way, they'd be burning people at the stake like it's the Middle Ages.

We need to strip away a good chunk of that bureaucratic political machine, get rid of their useless F1 forms, and move everything possible online. I genuinely don't see the difficulty. Need a signature? You send the form, they print it, sign it, scan it, and email it back. Don't have a scanner? Use that smartphone with the million-pixel camera. They clearly have email if they’re even able to access these services in the first place.
I see absolutely no problem here.
Furthermore, there's no reason we can't implement electronic signatures so everything can be finalized directly from a phone. It just requires a little bit of willpower, some basic knowledge, and proper guidance for the public. But above all, we have to clear out the political cronies, because they are the ones actively stalling the progress I'm talking about, not the technology itself.

What are your honest thoughts regarding the removal of mandatory quarantine for Americans returning from abroad (like trips to Canada, Austria, or Germany)? Specifically, I mean lifting those restrictions for people who are being flagged just because they traveled, rather than because they were actually exposed to someone sick.
It’s been so hard on families—some have been completely split up, with kids not seeing their dads or other relatives for quite some time now...
The rules actually got even tighter a few days ago (mainly because of folks trying to sneak back in while still technically under quarantine), but honestly, most people are really trying to follow the guidelines and stay away until everything is cleared... I think that's how the majority of us feel...
