Megan Green72 said:I don't get it—can you explain where or when you read that masks were 100% protection? Is this really catching you off guard now?

Look, if these things don't lower the risk of infection enough that we only have to quarantine the one specific stylist who worked on an infected patient, rather than shutting down an entire shift at a salon in downtown Chicago, then the whole concept is just fundamentally pointless...

Oh, it’s totally senseless. Seriously, how many more of these ridiculous contradictions do we have to wade through before everyone finally realizes what's actually going on?

Paul Wilson72 said:Look, you try explaining to me who actually wears them properly. People are causing way more issues by obsessing over self-isolation than the virus itself ever did.

If I'm not mistaken, the virus takes way longer to clear out, and apparently, it’s actually lethal for some people, unlike just sitting in your house alone.

Paul Wilson72 said:They really need to file a class-action lawsuit on behalf of everyone who was forced into unnecessary quarantine for two main reasons:
- loss of income,
- compensation for unlawful deprivation of liberty.

Matthew Jackson2 said:If the government were actually forced to foot the full bill for everyone stuck at home—you know, those folks who haven't tested positive but are still legally barred from working because of these ridiculous self-isolation mandates—I guarantee you we’d see the rules changing overnight...

That’s exactly what they should have been changing—that specific payout rule! It feels like they’re more than happy to rewrite laws just to justify the emergency task force, or even to punish folks for not wearing silly masks or following certain mandates, but suddenly they aren't willing to add a clause that ensures people in isolation get their full pay protected. It's frustrating, I guess. And man, imagine what happens once they start unfreezing bank accounts and garnishments again—what if someone already facing a levy ends up stuck in quarantine? That's going to be a mess...

Maybe go run a few polls out on the West Coast in San Diego, then come back and tell us what people actually think about it...

What kind of pilot? COVID is being dealt with regardless—it doesn't matter what people think about it.🙂

What kind of testing? COVID is being treated, regardless of how long it takes, and frankly, I don't care what anyone else thinks about it. 🙂
A huge portion of people cruised right through COVID without even realizing they were carrying it. Most of those who actually found out they had it were the ones who couldn't keep their mouths shut once the symptoms hit.

I knew there were asymptomatic cases, but I had no clue they made up the vast majority. Is that an actual fact, some kind of math model, or just people guessing?

Is the self-isolation mandate based on hard data and mathematical modeling, or is it just a guess by whoever decided to pass the rule?

It comes down to the results from antibody testing, which consistently demonstrate that far more people have actually recovered from the virus than those who were officially diagnosed—even in situations where we're actively testing people who had contact with the virus but showed absolutely no symptoms whatsoever.

Nothing unexpected has happened over the last six months or so. We could have easily guessed that the public—and the economy—wouldn't be able to stomach lockdowns and isolation for very long. But we also knew people would start acting out and causing trouble if they weren't personally facing death or sitting in an ICU. When that happens, you see a total 180: it flips from "this virus is fake, I’m not wearing a damn mask, let alone isolating" to "screw everyone who isn't reporting their contacts; throw them in jail and let them rot!"

What specific serology tests are we even talking about here—the ones claiming people caught this thing two, three, or maybe eight times? And why on earth does that supposedly prove they were all asymptomatic cases? Honestly, all I hear is a bunch of people claiming they "think" they had it because they didn't notice any symptoms back then, but now that they're overthinking it, they've decided it must have been the virus. In my book, that’s zero proof. It’s totally possible people just didn't care, weren't paying attention, or simply flew under the radar because nobody knew what was actually happening at the time.

Are you referring to those same individuals you previously dismissed as peddling baseless nonsense when they insisted they actually suffered through COVID-19 symptoms? 🤦

Wait, when did I ever say that? And what does that even have to do with my anecdote—which, for the record, I explicitly said was just a possibility, not a fact?

"We don't have a definitive answer just yet, but we're definitely looking at shortening quarantine periods. Ideally, this needs to be coordinated at a multinational level. For us, it’s crucial that the European Union reaches a consensus so we don't end up with one country using one standard while another uses something else—it's the same virus and we're dealing with essentially the same people," Božinović told reporters following a meeting with The Cabinet.

Plus, there are ongoing discussions happening globally. With an epidemic like this, nobody can pinpoint the exact day or hour when someone who tested positive finally becomes less of a risk to those around them.

15:25 - The government in Vienna decided on Thursday to trim down mandatory quarantine times for anyone flying in from high-risk areas. It's dropping from 14 days down to 10, according to Jelka Kacin, the administration's spokesperson for COVID-19, during a press conference in Vienna. This change kicks in this Sunday. Also, per the new rules, you've got a slightly longer window—moving from 36 to 40 hours—to present a negative COVID-19 test taken within an EU member state or an agency whose tests are recognized by the local authorities.

So, Kolarić is out here claiming they’re looking into making people with mild COVID-19 symptoms sit in isolation for ten days, but if you were just around them, you’re stuck for fourteen?! Like, seriously, who is running this show? Is anyone actually sane over there?
I mean, think about it—if you actually catch the bug, you get a shorter sentence than if you’re just a healthy bystander??

I’m curious if anyone actually knows how often—or if they even bother at all—local police show up at addresses to check on people under quarantine in Washington, D.C.? It feels to me like nobody is actually being monitored, or am I just completely off base here? 🤔
