Hey everyone. Just a heads up, I’m using an alt account. No shit... I’m not posting from my main because I can't seem to get any traction there and I honestly don't want to be one of those people constantly picking fights on the forum. I mostly just lurk over there. I’m more interested in checking out the other subforums where I usually hang out.
Anyway, things have been absolute CHAOS on that psychology couch subforum for a while now.
One user is just your typical bottom-of-the-barrel SPAMMER and troll.
And then there's another guy who posts these massive walls of text that literally make zero sense.
I'm talking specifically about maystoru and descender.
It’s not even just isolated incidents, either; there’s constant spam and off-topic nonsense.
It feels like this systematic pattern of bad posting that’s been going on forever.
Please don't hit me with that "just put them on your ignore list" or "just skip it" advice.
Seriously, what is the point of having moderators if we all just have to hide from the garbage and pretend it isn't happening?
The mods seem to go hard on the tiny, stupid mistakes, but when it comes to these blatant, notorious issues—nothing.
They’ll jump on one girl for suggesting medications are poison or something crazy (and she even admitted herself she deals with paranoid schizophrenia, so she should probably be thinking about how she's being manipulated rather than poisoned 🤦), but they stay silent when it comes to spammers and these endless, rambling walls of text without any beginning or end. ☕
Threads just keep opening up, all identical, with people basically talking to themselves, dropping five or ten posts in a row.
Threads get totally clogged because someone will dump thirty songs in a row within thirty minutes.
I guess that’s just considered normal to you guys. 😵
Is anyone actually going to bring some order to that place eventually?
As for the other subforum, the moderator hasn't logged in for months. Actually, scratch that, the mod doesn't even log into the forum at all. 🤦
On the flip side, you’ve got members who can't even write three consecutive posts without swearing, whining, or making personal attacks.
Here are a few examples so you know I'm not just making this up.
This isn't how healthy communication works to me.
"stupid trash bag"
"go screw yourselves, you lowlife scumbags"
And then they hand out warnings for using caps lock in random sentences on completely irrelevant threads, yet they ignore stuff like this. 🙏
I know nobody expects the mods to spot everything within ten seconds, but some things are so obvious that even a blind man could see them, and you can't really claim you didn't notice.
Even though I doubt anything is actually going to change, it’s fine, I just wanted to point it out with good intentions.
Look, an online forum isn't ever going to be 100% harmony, peace, and tolerance. There’s always going to be conflict, spam, and insults.
But the mods are supposed to be there to at least try to minimize all that and keep things orderly. They should be fair, instead of snapping at minor slip-ups while turning a blind eye to the major stuff.
Anyway, hope you guys have a good time on the forum, and I wish the mod team the best in dealing with all the many good, honest, and decent users here. 🙂
