Alright, here’s the backstory;
Until about six months ago, I was stuck with a total potato of a computer. Now, I finally upgraded to a high-end laptop, and honestly? It’s actually kind of boring... yet I still find myself wasting entire days glued to it..
I know I have a real issue with my screen time. Between the PC and my phone, I can't even focus on reading a book anymore... I started working out, though, and I’ve been hitting the gym hard every single weekday. I need help. I’ve finally decided I want to beat this digital addiction, but I have no clue where to start. I'm not making any money off this habit, and I definitely don't need these useless distractions cluttering up my life...
Any advice?🙏

I wonder if anyone else on this forum is running into this exact same issue?

You have far too much idle time on your hands. Why not spend it on something meaningful away from a screen?

Given everything that's been said, I highly doubt we're looking at a serious addiction here. What we're likely seeing is what happens to most people sitting behind a desk—just endlessly scrolling through forums and dodging their actual responsibilities. But hey, that's a "dependency" half the population deals with.
If you want to understand what actual computer addiction looks like, there is plenty of literature online, so go ahead and Google it (at least it'll give you a reason to spend more time staring at your screen). Real addiction leads to much more radical lifestyle shifts, often involving the total neglect of basic hygiene, severe social isolation, and even physical aggression when someone can't get online. Seriously, just look it up.
If you actually find yourself in that situation, there are specialists—mostly psychologists—in major cities who are more than willing to help young people dealing with those kinds of issues.
