Does anyone actually know what the limit is if I want to drop a bunch of cash into someone else's account at a bank? Like, is there a cutoff point where they start asking a million questions about where the money came from or if I can just slide it in without proving anything?

Since the start of the year, we’ve been looking at $10,000
Back when we were still using the old currency, you could move $200 without anyone blinking an eye $0.00
Even though JPMorgan Chase maintains full discretionary authority to demand proof of funds for as little as $100.
I personally made deposits into my checking account at Bank of America—not even as a power of attorney, just me $117—and they actually demanded documentation for $117 regarding the source of the cash and even scanned my ID

I’ve been digging through the tax code here in the US, but I can't find anything clear on whether a loan from one individual to another is taxable, or if there’s even a cap on how much you can move. Specifically, I'm looking at an incoming wire from overseas.
I'm talking about needing about $X00000 in loan funds.

I haven't seen anything posted here yet—looks like we're still waiting for the actual content to drop. Give me something to work with! kaže:
Starting New Year's Day, we’re looking at $10,000.
Back when we were still using dollars, New Year's Eve felt like hitting the jackpot—you could easily walk away with 200 bucks in your pocket. $0.00
Even if the bank technically has the right to ask you to prove where your money came from—even for a measly hundred bucks—it’s still pretty ridiculous.
I was just making deposits directly into my Wells Fargo checking account—and no, I don't have power of attorney or anything like that. $117 She was asking me for... $117 So, let me get this straight—they actually went through the trouble of tracking down the origin and then scanned a driver's license? Seriously? It’s like someone watched too many spy movies and decided to play detective in their own living room. Honestly, it feels a bit extra, doesn't it? Like, we’re all just out here trying to live our lives, and suddenly there's this whole deep dive into personal IDs. Just seems like a massive overkill to me.

Look, she’s a total rookie. There’s really no point in even asking—the NFL knows exactly what the numbers are for everything they're requesting.
