Hey,

So, I’ve been scouring the web and can't find a straight answer anywhere. If anyone has some insight or knows who to talk to, it would be a huge help. πŸ‘

I finally tracked down the perfect spot to open a neighborhood cafeβ€”but there’s one massive catch... I need to know, and I need to know fast, if I can lease the space out front for outdoor seating. It’s currently a parking lot, which is clearly public property. I’ve got my business registration and lease agreements ready to go, but I’m not about to sink all this capital into a place if I can't have a patio.

I could have made this more formal, but you get the gist. 😁 😡

Thanks!!

The Department of City Planning and Public Works really ought to be called something like "The Department You Actually Need" or some other much more honest title.

Usually, you’d want to track down the department head.

But, I mean, whateverβ€”just head over to the local City Hall and ask around there. Honestly, even the guy at the front desk should probably know where to point you.

I don't even know which municipality you're dealing with, but... yeah, just a heads-up, I wouldn't count on getting this sorted out in like two or three weeks. It usually takes way longer than that.

Alright, got everything wrapped up this morning.

I called City Hallβ€”after being bounced around through a few different departmentsβ€”and finally got the answers I was looking for. πŸ™‚
