Here’s my dilemma: who actually handles complaints about improperly placed signs? Is it the Department of Transportation, the Department of Homeland Security, or City Hall? In my neighborhood, they flipped a two-way street into a one-way, then slapped up a "No Parking or Standing" sign right where a tourist trolley was permitted to run—somehow legally driving the wrong way, apparently. :P The trolley stopped running once they realized it was a mess, but the sign is still there. Now it’s sitting right in front of my garage entrance. Technically, I can't even pull up to open my door, let alone unload groceries. I want to petition to have it removed or at least moved down past my driveway.
Edit: Traffic signage is supposed to follow the federal traffic sign regulation and specific American standards based on a formal traffic design project. If this was part of an official public road reconstruction, it should be filed with the county land records. Having worked in the county assessor's office myself, I know for a fact it isn't in there. Are they even allowed to install signs without that documentation? And if so, what are they basing it on?
