Starting this thread so we have a single, organized spot to track all the major political shake-ups coming our way. I'll list the dates, locations, and links to the relevant discussions right here.

Jan 20, 2017. USA: Donald Trump’s inauguration

March 15, 2017. Netherlands: Parliamentary elections

April 23 & May 7, 2017. France: Presidential elections

September 2017. Germany: Parliamentary elections

And so on... feel free to jump in if you want to add anything else to the list.

I'm heading out tomorrow to grab a massive bag of popcorn. This should be fun to watch. Go team! (Whoever ends up winning.)

Looks like we might be seeing early parliamentary elections in Austria—ahead of the presidential ones—as soon as March 2017 instead of waiting until 2018. Word on the street is they’re eyeing May 21st, 2017, as the most likely date.

Apparently, calling early elections in an Alpine nation like Austria isn't exactly a new phenomenon either; there seems to be a bit of a tradition there when things get messy.

32.13.3075 - politicians might actually start telling the truth 😬

OT
01.11.2016 - The American government is gearing up for its first session of the new year, and man, there's gonna be plenty of drama for the citizens and the news outlets to chew on 😉

Not sure if you guys heard, but the opposition has basically been squatting at the podium in Congress since the last session back in mid-December—and they’re planning to keep it up during this first meeting of the year too. So, expect things to get super heated
.
The opposition says they aren't budging until that last vote (you know, the one for this year's budget) gets redone, but the ruling party—well, basically jarosław kaczyński—is saying absolutely not

-The US Congress in September 2017
We’re likely looking at early congressional elections in the USA before those reconstruction era terms are even officially announced, probably sometime in 2017.

Obama’s giving his farewell speech in just a few hours. You can catch the stream right here
.
As for the inevitable chaos in the comments, they should be over at (unless some moderator actually decides to drop a decent link)

If I’m not mistaken, the CCP elections are coming up this year.
It feels like we're about to see even more hardline nationalists climbing the ladder, even if the big shots stay put.
