Man, I was just thinking about how back in the day, there was this episode of The Simpsons where they predicted Trump becoming president. It’s actually wild how spot-on they were with the details. You’ve gotta check out these clips comparing the show to reality:

Keep in mind, this cartoon aired way back in 2000!!!

Every serious, powerhouse nation on this planet plans at least 50 to 100 years ahead... so honestly... there’s nothing weird about what they're showing in the cartoon.
Just take a quick look at what companies like Shell and their crew are pumping into YouTube regarding energy trends...
it’s just us being shocked when everyone else is actually playing the long game.

Mickey Mouse just fell from the sky... haha

"They stole our jobs"—honestly, isn't that just the most hilarious joke you've ever heard?
I truly hope they get exactly what's coming to them.

A lot of this stuff gets baked right into cartoons and movies, people just don't pay enough attention to notice...
but hey, it’s all by design, so there's really no point in being shocked when it happens...

If you have little kids, you watch what they're watching, and then you act surprised when they turn out aggressive.
just take a look at what they've been consuming since they were in diapers...

at the end of the day, it's all working exactly how it was intended to work.

I have to wonder, which calendar are you actually following, you enlightened internet wanderer? Are you getting all your intel from those bastions of objective truth like 9gag or BuzzFeed?

Based on what those supposedly brilliant sources of yours have convinced you... you're on to something!!! But I suspect you might have been led astray—unless, of course (and I should probably add a disclaimer here), we happen to be using a completely different calendar altogether...

Simpsons online special, Trumptastic Voyage, July 7th, in the year of our Lord 2015.

That animation was produced just a few days after those videos surfaced of Trump navigating those automatic escalators, and while it was originally intended for regular episodes, it ended up being released strictly as a Simpsons online special...

wow wow!! Matrix ?!?!!??!!?!?!?!?

I just did a little digging, and yeah, there’s a cartoon from March 2000 where they mention Trump succeeding someone and imply America went broke under him...
So you could basically conclude they were already talking about him as a former president back then...

But this part is from 2015 on the stairs... where they put the clip of him descending the stairs alongside the cartoon...

Look, even though I still maintain that movies and cartoons are mostly used for propaganda,
we can pretty much write off this whole thing with The Simpsons as just a joke if we don't account for the fact
that Donald Trump WAS A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE IN 2000..if that's what you want to believe...
that's why they were messing with him back then... so there's NO CONSPIRACY, we all just got a little carried away, honestly.

Here’s the real reason they brought him up in that cartoon back in 2000, because he was basically

The Simpsons = CIA 🤔
Easy stuff for Trump. I mean, what’s 9/11... or anything else.

Look, I love the Simpsons, but this just isn't anything special. They've basically been satirizing American Society for over 25 years now, touching on pretty much everything under the sun. It’s totally expected that they called most of this stuff ahead of time.
Honestly, South Park handled the whole election theme way better this season.

You probably have at least one friend who just posted some "mind-blowing" prediction on their feed about how the Simpsons somehow called Trump’s victory over a decade ago.

Basically, there's this clip of Donald Trump walking down an escalator and waving to a massive crowd, which looks eerily similar to a scene from an episode aired 15 years later.

The catch? It wasn't actually from an episode back in 2000—it was from 2015. You know, the exact same year Trump actually did the whole escalator thing in real life.

Doesn't stop people from spinning a thousand wild conspiracy theories, though. Some YouTube video of it already pulled in over two million views.

Then you've got that other scene with the electoral map that supposedly mirrors the 2016 results, but that actually had nothing to do with Trump; it featured Mitt Romney from his 2012 run.

People always bring up the "Futurama" style vibe of the 2000 episode where they joked about Trump winning, but calling it a "prediction" is a huge stretch. He was already talking about running for office a year before that, so it was just a media circus that the writers decided to poke fun at.

And yet, this is what everyone's obsessing over.🤦

You can spend days glued to CNN, Fox News, or scrolling through HuffPost and the NYT, jumping between different commentators and journalists. You’ll find yourself agreeing with one person here and another there, but at the end of the day, they’re all sharp. They actually have something intelligent to say.

Then you go and open an article like that and just feel the secondhand embarrassment. It’s honestly pathetic what we have for journalists these days.
