Benjamin Foster2 said:But in all this chaos, what actually happened to the free market, capitalism, and those other grand little slogans we used to believe in?

Look, the financial sector isn't just some regular part of the economy—it’s built different. You can't just let it run completely wild without any rules. That's literally why we even have the Federal Reserve and all those other regulatory agencies in the USA. The real headache starts when those people stop doing their actual jobs... and in this specific situation, they definitely haven't been pulling their weight.

I am currently paying for some of the most expensive internet service in the world thanks to Deutsche Bank, all while handing over massive fees to the biggest banks on the planet because of the European Union's regulations.

And then you have those clueless Americans who try to lecture me by saying, "Oh, we successfully pulled so much money out of federal grants..." and then just stop there.

Listen, you misguided lot, those funds were already taken from you in the first place; what you see now is nothing more than them tossing back a few crumbs. Is that truly difficult to grasp, or did our public school system simply fail to prepare you for such basic logic?

Cheers to you, my dear government dependents.

There's this killer documentary floating around on YouTube.

The whole damn country is drowning in debt—I mean, look at certain neighborhoods in the States where entire blocks of homes were just seized by JPMorgan Chase.

These houses are just sitting there, sealed up tight, rotting away instead of being sold.
Homelessness is skyrocketing and you’ve got fires breaking out everywhere.

Turns out, those "financial forensic experts" found that they were dumping people's life savings into these insanely risky bets with basically zero chance of a payout, all while pitching them as these massive, sure-fire opportunities to the public.
