Hi,
I have a few quick questions.

I got cited today for not carrying my state ID. The fine is $67 plus $33 in processing fees.

Does that 50% discount for paying within 3 days actually apply here, or am I stuck with the 2/3 amount they mentioned at the precinct during the 8-day window?

I'm assuming that "discount" only covers the base fine and doesn't touch those administrative fees, which still need to be paid in full?

Also, do I need to physically bring the receipt back to the station?

Thanks,

Two-thirds within the deadline plus$33.
If it isn't explicitly listed on the account, then honestly, why even bother? You can just fax it over or shoot them an email instead.

Thanks for the reply. So I pay and send the PayPal via email.

There isn't much of a gap between 50% and two-thirds, but I am curious—for which specific penalties does that three-day rule actually apply? Is it strictly for those arriving by mail?

So, whenever you get one of those notices slapped in your hand about some petty violation you supposedly committed—or if they just can't track you down right then and there—it’s basically the same headache, right? Like, you actually want to just settle the fine and move on with your life, but the problem is you're flat-out broke.
