I mean, really, what kind of meditation practice is actually worth pursuing if the potential downside is ending up in a psychiatric ward? It seems like a massive gamble, doesn't it?

Don't sweat it—anyone crazy enough to be doing intense meditation would probably wind up in a mental health facility even without it, right?😁
The whole point of meditating is just to chill out and quiet your mind, nothing more, nothing less. No need to overthink the deep philosophy behind it.🍿

I see that a few pages back someone was already bringing this up, so I’m a little lost as to why we're revisiting it now

Since my kundalini is already active, I don't see any danger in meditating. Occasionally, I feel energy surges or muscle twitches as things clear out. Most people end up in mental hospitals simply because American psychiatrists and psychologists have no clue what kundalini is or the symptoms that come with it. There's even talk of psychological issues being linked to that 97% of "junk DNA" that gets triggered during activation. Honestly, I don't regret a single thing I went through with my kundalini; it was all for the best. I'm grateful for everything I've experienced, and I know it'll only get better. It feels like a spiritual Mother keeps giving you increasingly beautiful gifts. I meditate daily now, and the benefits have been undeniable.
