Plus, I’m totally convinced there’s some kind of built-in mechanism in our heads that blocks any dream sequences that might trigger a paradox
last night
So, here’s the dream—I’m in Tulsa, hanging out with Roger Federer and my buddy from RL (who’s also a pro tennis player—honestly the GOAT, hasn't lost a match in five years, and physically he’s basically a carbon copy of Wawrinka) and they’re all geared up like they’re about to play a massive match, rackets in hand and everything
Suddenly, I’m sitting right under the stands where the top 50 players in the world are watching. Everyone’s decked out in their jerseys, and then, out of nowhere, I get this crazy idea to challenge my buddy to a match! I mean, sure, he’s technically the greatest ever, but I know him—he’s really not much better than me, right?
I was actually stoked to have the chance to be right there among the elite and try to make a move. I start calling him out for a duel, but the crowd starts getting louder and louder—it’s intense! They start making this buzzing sound, almost like a swarm of bees, and everyone starts tapping one foot in unison. It gets so loud it completely drowns me out; it’s like they can’t even hear me
And honestly, that wall of noise is what prevents the paradox—you know, the idea of me playing against the number one player in the world and actually being on his level? My brain just doesn't know how to process a scenario like that
