The closer you get to downtown, the more performative—and overpriced—everything becomes. It’s all just people pretending to be important while trying to squeeze every cent out of you.
Truthfully, Central Park is a bit of a letdown right now since you can't even hang out outside, though I'm sure there's some overpriced cafe tucked away somewhere nearby.

Oh, there's definitely potential there... we just need to shake a few things up. Honestly, my big idea? I was thinking we could do a nice little stroll through Central Park, maybe grab some cookies or even some decent burgers along the way.

I’m not much of a religious person, so if anyone wants to get together over Easter weekend or on Easter Monday, just let me know what you have in mind!

Anyone free this Friday or Sunday? Thinking maybe around 6 PM on Friday, or we could even do earlier on Sunday if that works better for everyone

I think I’ll sign up too 🙂
As far as active users on this forum go, it’s just Carl Rivera43, Apple Pie, and myself.
Is there anyone else out there? 😉

I’ll be there—assuming my health doesn't decide to fail me at the last minute. I had planned to make it today, but things just didn't go my way.

Yeah, looks like the forecast is pretty solid... maybe some rain rolling in after midnight, but otherwise, it’s looking like a beautiful day.

I won't be able to make it because I'll be busy giving a lecture over at Dragon Con during that time.

Apple Pie and I have decided to cancel our trip. Apple is feeling pretty wiped out, and if I’m being honest, the idea of hanging out with three different forum members all at once feels a bit overwhelming 🕺

I’m probably heading out to hit some shops on Fifth Avenue with my girlfriend this afternoon—might even swing by a bar for maybe three beers—but honestly, looking at the crowd now, she might feel a bit out of place since there aren't many women attending.
It’s pretty clear you guys aren't exactly big on organizing these things. What was the biggest turnout you've had so far?

Honestly, I find myself wondering what actually goes on at these gatherings 😬? Like, what does everyone actually do, how many people typically show up, and what’s the general age range? It might seem a bit silly to ask, I suppose, but I am genuinely curious 😁.

Sometimes there’s just three or four of us hanging out, and other times we’ll have closer to eight... usually somewhere between 25 and 40 people show up, plus whoever else wanders in. What do we actually do? We just hang out and talk about whatever random stuff pops into our heads.

I only made it to one since I don't live in New York City, but the thing that really stuck with me was how you can just talk about psychic issues without any of those weird social taboos, which is something you almost never get to experience in the real world. Obviously, that doesn't mean every single conversation revolves around that sort of thing, of course.

That’s exactly my point, though! Censorship and bans are just a way to run away from reality. When someone shows up, they don't have any strings attached. The costs? It's basically just the price of a coffee or a beer, maybe a couple bucks here or there. But the conversations? You can say so much during a hangout that really gets people fired up. To me, these get-togethers are like a winning lottery ticket where everyone walks away a winner.
