Alright, greetings everyone! Those of you in the Seattle area are officially invited to a get-together once we settle on a date that works for the majority. Please feel free to reach out to me via private message with any suggestions or preferences you might have! I am truly looking forward to this and would love for us to gather in as large a group as possible 👍😉 Additionally, if anyone from another city wants to join our crew, you are more than welcome 🙂

Is there anyone from the St. Louis area who'd be down to hang out?

A little meetup for the "lightning bolts" in Washington, D.C.

Here’s how we’re going to play this:

1. Just for folks from the forum.
2. Only those who’ve dealt with a diagnosis or have spent some time in a hospital setting.
3. The main theme is short-term psychotherapy. We’ll share our personal experiences first, and then just chat about whatever comes up later.
4. The whole point of getting together is to help de-stigmatize any kind of mental, psychological, or thought-based struggles. I really want us to be able to talk about this stuff openly without feeling weird.
5. We'll be testing out the concept of psychotherapy. Open dialogue therapy is actually a recognized method over in Finland, though I wouldn't expect anyone to walk away completely cured overnight—think of it more as a bit of quick, meaningful support.
6. Please, no psychoactive substances. A little alcohol is fine, and if you smoke, please just keep the cigarettes to an absolute minimum.

So, Carl Rivera43, if you could round up a group from the forum that fits these rules, that would be great. Once we see who's interested, we can figure out a time that works for most people. If there isn't much interest, we'll just scrap the idea.

Laura Castillo6, look, the mix matters... the whole concept... thinking I can just do everything on my own? That’s just not realistic. It's all about community... staying the course... which is exactly why we host those meetups with our outside partners.

Today at 7:57 PM. Downtown near the main square... right by the clock, near those flower stalls...

Same here... Friday is still on the schedule, though we're looking at 7:58 PM instead, right?

What do you think about the concept now?

The whole point of this meetup is actual conversation, not just a "hangout" centered around drinking or smoking and stuff like that.

If we get four people from the forum together to share their experiences and perspectives regarding psychology, then we’ve actually achieved the purpose of this gathering.

A different kind of get-together—one focused on partying, drinks, or smoking—that would be better suited for a separate, organized social event.

In my head, I’m envisioning this more like a free group therapy session, but strictly for our forum members. This community is where people come specifically looking for information and support.

Even if someone isn't dealing with a specific psychological issue, if they're part of the forum and just need some good company, they should feel invited to join us because they're part of this group.

That’s basically how I’ve been picturing it.

It’ll be happening next week too... honestly, anytime after 5:30 PM works perfectly for me, and on Saturdays? I'm free anytime after 2:30 PM. Sunday? I'll probably be around somewhere after
