I might swing by for a bit today, probably heading straight to the pub around 6:30. If you guys end up changing the spot, maybe Carl Rivera43 could shoot me a quick text.

Yeah, it was honestly such a blast. Great energy, great vibes, everyone was just totally locked in!

It was a really nice time, and I enjoyed meeting quite a few new faces; I’m actually looking forward to our next get-together 👍

I recently realized that these meetups are organized by subforum... I suppose now I'll have to keep a close eye on when the next one for this group is scheduled.
#1628 ·
Well, yeah, go ahead—follow along, pitch an idea, just jump in. You're more than welcome here.

So, I've got an idea for our next get-together! How does Friday, March 18th at 4:00 PM sound? We can meet up on Main Street

How am I supposed to recognize you all? I assume those in the know will spot me...
It feels a bit ridiculous to wander from group to group asking, "Hey, are you guys from the forum?" 😁
Will there be many of you? I gathered the age range falls somewhere between 20 and 40...

There’ll probably be about five or six of us getting off this couch... we'll head over and hang out near Main Street, and you might spot a few people waiting around there... personally, I'm just a tall, thin guy with a bit of stubble

I'm in. I've got theater plans, so I'll swing by right after. 😉

Just a heads-up, I’ve gotta be downtown by 7:00 PM, so let's hope we don't wander too far from the action.

We'll figure it out eventually, probably somewhere downtown.
Central Park and Golden Gate Park will likely be the spots after Easter, once the weather finally starts warming up.

Just dropping a quick suggestion here. I know how we "border" types are—we think we have everything figured out. If anyone’s actually interested, you can join me for Aikido. Personally, it hits on a lot of levels, and if you're struggling to get out the door or feeling isolated, I’m calling on you to sign up. I see how much people respond to these meetups; everyone gets to hang out with like-minded folks, which honestly feels like a natural form of psychotherapy. The next logical step would be branching out and mixing with other groups too. I can look out for you so nobody messes with you—I've got your back. This invitation extends to everyone, even those I've had friction with lately. Just "border" things, I guess. I'll check on the registration details today and see if joining specific groups is an option. I’m hitting the late session—two and a half hours that fly by—and I sleep like a baby once I get home. It's $250 if you're working, $180 if not.
So, what do you all think? Just an idea, since I'm getting dressed for practice now 🙂. And Carl Rivera43, I'll check in with you on Friday—if you're still around, I'll swing by around 5:30 or 6:00.

@Robert Harris16, what was that thing behind the main entrance at the Golden Gate Park parking lot? That Aikido school? I actually attended a
free seminar there once—they were doing archery.
Though, if we're being honest, I didn't see a single bow longer than two feet. I have to admit, it was somewhat entertaining... assuming we're talking about the same thing, of course.

Yeah, it’s in the Paromlinska area. And just to be clear—that isn't Bloomberg's parking lot, it belongs to the City of Chicago 😁. As for the aikido thing—it’s got nothing to do with bows and arrows. It’s just... zen. At least for me. A whole crowd of people heads out there just to feel a little more human. You can tell immediately.

I suppose I might join you all next time if things actually 🙂.
But honestly—where exactly is that Statue of Liberty located? 😵
