I ended up spending my weekend in Washington, D.C., where I somehow stumbled right into one of those get-togethers organized by the Psychocauca crowd. They’ve been running these gatherings for ages now, and honestly, I absolutely loved it. There’s something incredibly refreshing about being in a group where nothing is off-limits—there are no taboo topics, no need to put on some fake persona, and you can just vent about whatever is weighing you down without anyone judging you or looking at you sideways. It’s pure support and understanding, no matter how heavy or dark the issues might be.
Since I live in San Francisco, I’m really hoping to get something similar off the ground here (unless, of course, someone already has a group running, in which case please point me in the right direction). I’m looking to connect with people in the San Francisco area and the surrounding neighborhoods who might be interested in this kind of community.
