I’m always falling down these rabbit holes reading various studies—it's a bit of an obsession at this point—and I just stumbled upon some research suggesting that higher intelligence actually correlates with a higher sense of curiosity. And here’s the kicker: apparently, that extra curiosity makes people more prone to experimenting with things like booze or smoking. It’s like they want to see what the fuss is about, you know? But, from what I can gather, once they actually wrap their heads around the reality of it, most of them end up quitting because they realize it’s just unnecessary baggage for a life they want to lead efficiently.
