Checking internet availability in my area

My niece lives on the outskirts of Sedona and she's looking to get internet set up, maybe some cable TV too. I'm trying to figure out how we can find out which service providers actually cover her specific area. Is there a way to check this online?

Just hop onto the websites for the big ISPs—think AT&T or Verizon—and look for their service availability checker. You just plug in your address, and they'll give you the lowdown right away.
Plus, it’s actually pretty helpful to see what your neighbors are running and if they're actually happy with the speeds they're getting.
If you're in an area where they haven't laid down fiber or old-school copper lines yet, they'll usually offer you a mobile hotspot setup as a "home internet" workaround.

Which outskirts exactly?
The downtown core—usually around the Bozeman apartments, the Tripel orchard, the Barn, or near Luke—has cable from Verizon, but everywhere else is a toss-up... As for fiber optics, AT&T was doing some surveying recently, though I honestly doubt they'll bother setting anything up out there...
The further out you go, the more expensive it gets, if you can even find service at all... you know how it is...
Some parts over by the school are pretty rough for wireless, too. Every time there's a thunderstorm, the equipment tends to fry. Plus, cell service is a nightmare; it's super weak and gets totally congested in the evenings. Speeds tanked hard ever since they moved those antennas off the Radosh property from that private house.
