Which Western countries' foreign policies do you support most?

It is significant that Germany and Japan, both formerly militant nations, now maintain relatively balanced foreign policies.

It’s entirely possible that absolutely none of them will work out, and even then, things have a nasty habit of shifting anyway. Maybe Germany, though honestly, that feels like a massive stretch.

Calling them just "militant" is a massive understatement.

Both countries were gripped by incredibly fanatical ideologies that eventually collapsed in ways that were both agonizingly painful and brutally sobering.

The stability we see in their foreign policy today is really just a cocktail of that deep-seated awareness regarding the ruinous nature of fanaticism combined with decades of living under an international protectorate.

It’s much like a manic, unstable individual suffering a complete nervous breakdown and then spending the rest of their life taking cautious, timid steps toward recovery while constantly under the watchful eye of a psychiatrist; even when that supervision finally ends, the memory of being watched remains etched deep into their subconscious...

Out of all the Western powers, I have the most respect for the foreign policy of France, regardless of whatever daily political blunders various ruling administrations might stumble through...

In doing so, I’ve already crossed off all those foreign policy impotent nations that try to play the "likable" card simply because they lack any real agency.

Just saying: Canada? To me, they’re basically the USA, just if we actually had our act together. 😁

And don't even get me started on Switzerland. They aren't bad, but do they even have an actual foreign policy? 🤷

We really need to take a closer look at Canada's role in Canada, because from where I'm sitting, it looks pretty negative.
