Hey everyone,
I'm looking to get my personal certificate extracted onto a cryptographic device through the IRS.
If I were to submit the application tomorrow, does anyone happen to know how long the turnaround time usually is for picking it up?
Thanks,

So, does that mean with access to the EU portal I can submit all the accounting forms for any client I have power of attorney for?
And handle tax, social security, and health insurance filings too? I doubt placidsurfer4 could pull that off...

You can handle taxes, but nothing else. For those, you need specific professional certifications.

Hi, I could use a little help here. I need to apply for a new digital certificate, which I'll be using exclusively for the IRS e-filing system on behalf of a legal entity.
Which certificate specification should I select?
Should I go with 1) electronic signature or 2) authentication, and for the crypto device, 1) security level or 2) qualified?
It seems to me that I can just use an electronic signature with a security-level crypto device, whereas the authentication and qualified options might only be necessary if I were using other IRS services beyond just filing taxes. The folks at the local bank couldn't give me a straight answer, and the people at the tax office weren't sure either, so I'm feeling a bit lost... 🤔
Thanks!

So, I was looking back at my old sales tax filings from April, and I realized I’ve got an unpaid balance sitting there with the IRS. Now, I'm getting ready to file my May returns, and I'm a bit confused—if I submit this new filing, does the deadline for that total amount get pushed back to June 30th? Or does the IRS just look at each month's sales tax obligations as completely separate things? Thanks for any help!

They view every month individually. If you check your tax account ledger, you'll see the specific posting date for each return along with the individual due dates for those liabilities.

Hey there, I need to verify an IRS/USA form.
I was hoping to handle this through the IRS website if possible, since "processing USA forms" is listed under citizen services on the portal.
I’ve scoured the site, checking under claims-submitted and pretty much everywhere else, but I can't find anything matching what I need. Any help would be appreciated!

Accountants and fellow travelers, I need some help.

I'm not sure what's going wrong, but even after logging in properly with my digital certificate, I can't upload a single form for any of my clients. When I click "SELECT FILE," the pop-up window simply doesn't appear, so I can't browse my computer to upload anything.

I called tech support and they pointed me toward the IRS. I contacted them and we verified my certificate; everything looks fine. I also stopped by my local IRS branch, and they said everything is in order on their end. I've updated everything possible on my computer and tried Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Firefox, but nothing works.

And the end of the year is already creeping up on us. 🙂🙂🙂🙂

Does anyone happen to know the right way to close out a tax withholding card through the IRS website?

How are you planning to close out? The IRS just rolls everything over into the new year anyway. If there isn't a balance or an overpayment, the card stays blank—but if there is, that’s where all the data shows up.

I’m getting the runaround at the IRS, honestly. They’re telling me my son has to officially close out his own tax filing status first before they'll even consider letting me claim him as a dependent.

Well, if that's the case, you'll just have to deal with the IRS.

I actually thought you were asking about an entrepreneur's debit card.
Either the employer handles card updates for their staff, or you just handle it yourself if you're freelancing.

I honestly don't see the point of using an online tax portal if they haven't even implemented all the necessary features yet.

@pzec - just a heads up, this specifically applies to individual taxpayers.🙂

For anyone else out there dealing with the same headache of needing to close out a P&G account—honestly, just mention it right there in the notes section. I found that if you specifically request the closure of the P&G within your remarks, they usually have it all squared away by the very next day.

Can I download a confirmation of my tax-free income directly from the IRS website?

Or is that something only my employer can provide?

It's a shame they didn't just make that an actual button/option.

When you download your income statement from the IRS portal, there's a breakdown at the bottom listing all your tax-exempt payments. I don't think there's a specific standalone certificate for that, unless I'm totally missing something.

Hey, quick question. As a small business owner getting my digital certificate, can I be the one actually filing all the forms—VAT, income tax, everything—through the IRS website myself, regardless of what my business does? Also, can I use that same setup for the social security portal to handle employee onboarding and terminations? Basically, I’m wondering if I can handle it all solo without having to hand out any powers of attorney to someone else.

Hey,
does anyone know how to actually file the PD-IPO form on the IRS website? I fill everything out, but as soon as I hit check, the whole thing just wipes itself clean. Tried saving it too, same deal. What am I doing wrong?
