Should the USA recognize the State of Palestine?

Will the USA ever reach a point where we can actually decide for ourselves who gets recognized and who doesn't?!
The situation regarding Palestine and its people—stretching from Lebanon and Syria to Jordan and Egypt—has hit a critical turning point.

The UN needs to make a call on recognizing Palestine, which they have every right to do.
Is the US just sitting around waiting for permission from the "big players"?!
But why...? Are we really that terrified of our own shadow?!!

Who’s actually going to stop us from recognizing the sovereignty of a nation that has earned it?
I don't care if the pressure comes from the American Embassy or the Israeli side; we have the right to make our own calls, don't we?!

The US has nothing to gain by recognizing Palestine and "swimming against the tide"—Palestine is the absolute last place where America should be trying to flex its muscles. We have far more pressing domestic issues to deal with than this.

The reality is that those people calling themselves Palestinians already have a country—it’s called Jordan. If you want to talk about the actual historical connection to the land, they're essentially the rightful heirs to Israel. They bought the territory with massive amounts of cash and fought to reclaim what was originally theirs. 🙏

So, I have to wonder—why is it that those Arabs, who insist on calling themselves Palestinians, absolutely refuse to settle down in Jordan? 🙂

Look, let's be real: Israelis pushed Palestinians out of Palestine, and the world tends to side with them because their lobby is just that powerful globally. It’s unfortunate, really. Russia took this stance way back in 1988 and they haven't budged since.

I suppose there’s a moral argument for recognizing Palestine. Israel hasn't exactly been playing ball, and they seem pretty keen on dodging negotiations. If I recall correctly, we've long since stated our support for a two-state solution.
Of course, the Palestinians would need to recognize Israel and commit to peace, while Israel would have to commit to pulling back to the 1967 borders.

Unfortunately, this isn't really our game to play. Our recognition doesn't change much for the Palestinians, nor does our lack of it sway the Israelis. For the US, the main priority here is avoiding any friction with the major global powers. We might need their backing down the line for our own national interests, so I guess this kind of hesitation makes sense. 🤷

If the Israelis were able to arrive in such massive numbers back in 1948 and successfully establish their own nation, why on earth would we just let the native Arabs be swept away by the relentless gears of history and strip them of their fundamental right to self-determination?
The truth is, they have their own rights too, rights that have been systematically trampled for sixty years now!!

Look, our ties with the USA and Israel are a million times more important than recognizing Palestine. Anyone in America trying to pull that move would be doing a huge disservice to our national interests.

The PLO basically recognized Israel through the Oslo agreements anyway. Honestly, those kinds of declarations don't mean much in the long run—they can be walked back whenever. What actually matters is stabilizing the situation.

Even though the State of Palestine might not function like a fully realized nation due to those deep internal fractures, I honestly believe we ought to recognize them. To them, that recognition represents sovereignty, regardless of how messy the reality on the ground looks right now.

But hey, sure... let's just say "Yes"... but under what terms? Is Israel actually going to let those illegal settlements stay inside a future Palestinian state? NOPE! The theft of territory by Israelis is blatant—no doubt about it. Just look at how those illegal settlements are strategically placed on the map. It's designed to shatter the Palestinians into a hundred little pieces... totally disconnected...

My condition? Israel tears down every single ILLEGAL settlement and hands back every inch of stolen land to the Palestinians! Stolen. But we all know that won't happen because Israelis are such a "modern, civilized" people compared to Palestinians, right? 🙂

Who are we actually to decide who gets recognized?
Look, half of the European Union still treats us like some disorganized tribe that can't make up its mind—one day it's a "yes" on a policy, the next day it's a total "no"... whatever the reason, whether it’s humanitarian, moral, or just plain right, we have to recognize the State of Palestine, just like everyone else eventually had to recognize us.

The average American doesn't have a clue who we are. They know we're tucked away on the continent of Europe, and they're probably scratching their heads wondering how we can be part of Europe while speaking such different languages.
Didn't the rest of the world used to look at us and our neighbors like we were just some tribes in Africa? That really stung, honestly. So where does it give us the right to deny someone else's existence, especially when they've been there for thousands of years?
