If we aren't actually on the ground there—physically present to hear the whispers in their private inner circles—then we might as well just hope that British or American diplomacy (who surely have their own eyes and ears planted among them) manages to pass along something useful...

So why was NATO even founded? The treaty was created
with an armed attack by the Soviet Union
against Western Europe in mind , but the mutual
self- defense clause was never invoked during
the Cold War .
If you follow that logic, then NATO doesn't even make sense to exist, let alone keep its name. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization? Does the US or any other partner have some deep, mystical connection to the North Atlantic or the ocean itself? It's kind of a funny way to name things when you think about it!

The Non-Aligned Movement feels like little more than a nostalgic relic these days—essentially just a convenient excuse for politicians to justify their actions. If you really want to capture the essence of this movement through symbolism, perhaps it could be described using the imagery of a tiger or a venomless snake.
