Over in Italy, kids actually look forward to receiving gifts from a witch named 😁 Santa Claus.

We already discussed Spain. I am surprised to hear about this tradition in Italy for the first time.🤷

Why not a fairy if she is already good?

That’s exactly why. 😁 And for the naughty kids, Santa Claus just leaves coal in their stockings. 😁

It's a long-standing tradition—you can read all about it here:

👍

I completely overlooked Italy.🤔🙈🤦

However,

From the spring equinox, Santa Claus will be reborn, life will be renewed and rejuvenated, and she will return as Fana, the forest goddess of spring.

😕 Is this not Fiona?

Kids honestly don't care about the specifics because to them, it’s all just one big, wonderful blur of holiday magic, like how they go from Saint Nicholas to the lights, then the little baby Jesus, then the Nativity, then full-blown Christmas, then Santa Claus, and finally that whole whirlwind of New Year's celebrations!

So, basically, they had some older stuff sitting around that was looking a little rough, so they figured they’d just roll out Valentine's Day deals to clear out whatever leftover junk was still hanging around the warehouses from Christmas, or honestly, maybe even some leftovers from last summer!

I was just sitting here thinking about how crazy things are getting... honestly, looking at how much earlier New Year's and Christmas sales start hitting the shelves every year, plus the way the whole global economy is constantly shifting and reacting to every little crisis, I really feel like we’re heading toward a massive calendar shake-up! It wouldn't even surprise me if market pressures eventually forced us to move everything around, like having Christmas fall as early as November 29th or something just to keep up with the pace of modern life! 🤷

Honestly, I think we should just go ahead and implement a floating Christmas holiday whenever it actually makes sense, you know? Like, instead of forcing everyone into the same rigid schedule, we could just shift things around based on what’s happening at the time, and there’s absolutely no reason why every single state in America couldn't just pick their own timing to suit their specific needs! 🤷
I mean, we’ve even got those massive summer festivals and street carnivals to look forward to around here!

So, get this—I was just walking through downtown, and I caught this absolutely precious sight in that whole pre-Christmas, high-anticipation mood we all get! There was this little group of kids, maybe around eight or nine years old, out on a field trip with their teacher. They were wandering through the city in these cute little pairs, making sure to hold hands super strictly, looking all sweet and orderly. And man, they were singing that "Deck the Halls" carol so loud and with such pure, fierce enthusiasm, you could just feel the holiday spirit hitting you right in the face!

We’re totally gonna tear Santa Claus apart!
La la la la la la la la la!

😁

Honestly, I can't help but wonder where on earth they even got that from, like, seriously, where did they hear that kind of stuff?! 🤔

No, that won't happen. Our old-school folks and traditionalists are set on December 25th. November will remain just a month for holiday prep as always. Besides, the Christmas season has always started with Advent, so there is nothing groundbreaking about this!

For me, they’re usually just the most mind-numbing days of the entire year!
I mostly just sleep through half of it—not that I'm complaining, really.
If it were up to me, I'd just buy my own skis and head out to some mountain instead.😂

Once you move out of your parents' place, it’s actually a great way to hang with the family more. But while you're still at home, you just enjoy the fact that there's no school...

Maybe sounds a bit cheesy, but for me, this is the best time of the year.

I noticed something decent today—traffic in this city (Chicago) seems to have finally chilled out, which means the air actually feels breathable for once.
