Where did the signature formatting rules go?

Upon visiting this link - and attempting to access the rules mentioned in the title, one finds themselves met with nothing at all.

How am I to determine what is appropriate for a signature? If there are no rules provided, does that not imply that everything is permitted? And if certain things are forbidden without being stated, is that not simply an oversight on your part?

Just a heads-up regarding signatures: everything we cover in our posting guidelines applies to your signature too. Think of your signature as an extension of your actual posts. If you’re planning on quoting another member in there, please just make sure to include a direct link to their original post right underneath the quote. Beyond that, it's business as usual—keep things respectful, don't post any private info, avoid being provocative, and please, no advertising. As for the look of it, we suggest keeping it to about one line of standard text or maybe up to three lines if you're using smaller font. Since screen resolutions vary so much these days, we don't have a strict character count, so let's just use some common sense and try not to make it visually overwhelming or massive.

Thank you for your response! It is actually just a lyric from an English song, so I can assure you there is nothing provocative or offensive about it. What I am truly curious about is the maximum length allowed for a signature. Is it possible to include a single line, or would there be enough room for an entire stanza?
I will attempt to format it as two or three lines of lowercase text; hopefully, I won't make a mess of it.

Well, I have updated my signature. However, I cannot seem to locate it. Furthermore, since making the change, I am unable to view anyone else's signature either. Have I perhaps made an error somewhere?

Take a look at that signature. It’s obnoxious; shrink the font down to the smallest setting possible.

The thing is, there isn't even an option to adjust the font size, the typeface, or the color. That’s exactly why mine looks this way—it's just stuck. Even trying to force it with CSS code doesn't seem to work at all...

Could those perhaps be a couple of small arrows, one meant to "decrease size" and the other to "increase size"?

Alright, I went ahead and scaled that down for you. You’ll just need to manually drop in those font size tags before and after your signature to get it looking right. If you decide you want to tweak the color or toss in a hyperlink later on, just give me a shout! 🙂

Oh, thank you! However, I am still somewhat confused, as I cannot see my own signature or anyone else's. I attempted to log out and back in hoping they might appear, but to no avail. Is there perhaps a setting I have overlooked?

It looks like you probably just accidentally toggled off the setting to view signatures while you were messing around with your settings earlier! I went ahead and switched it back on for you, so you should be seeing everyone's signatures perfectly normally again now.
