Honestly, that’s more than enough to get things moving...😁
You just have to start somewhere...

I’ll check back in if I come up with anything useful—mostly regarding what I actually want out of life...😍
I try to be pretty realistic and objective when looking at my own goals versus what’s actually possible, but there’s this gap: what’s currently on the table just doesn't hit the mark emotionally...
I guess the happiest people are the ones who actually get to do what they love, rather than just doing whatever they have to because better options aren't around.
So, here’s where I am—my big goal is to find a career that actually feels fulfilling. How to actually make that happen? Well, that’s a whole different story...

I have a certain vision... though it gets a bit blurry at times.

I am looking for fulfillment. I want to find something worth dedicating myself to, something I can actually be passionate about. Ideally, I'd lead a positive life—centered on things like love and passion.
It doesn't need to be anything grand. I'm just looking.

😂😂😂

I felt the same way. It was a moment of total clarity—it finally clicked. And then, suddenly... (imagine the sound of shattering glass) everything fell apart. Now, I am looking for it again. 😁

A little while back, I totally walked away from my first major university program after realizing that path just wasn't for me, so I decided to call it quits on everything there.
And honestly, I was pretty much at a complete loss for what to do next...
I spent days and days pouring over every single resource on career counseling, basically scrolling through every single course offered at various colleges just to see if anything caught my eye, weighing the pros and cons of different industries against the kind of lifestyle I really want to live, just everything... It went on for months.
I guess you really have to deconstruct that "dream job" idea for yourself...
Think about what actually makes you happy, what kind of office culture you'd thrive in, whether there's room to keep learning and moving up, which specific niche fits... Hopefully, you'll start finding some real answers eventually...😁

I’ve been doing some thinking lately...
The kind of existence I actually want—it isn't something I could ever achieve through sheer willpower alone—and, frankly, under current US laws, it’s practically illegal

And even if it were legal, the work that would actually satisfy me right now falls completely outside my professional field

So now, I’m just left feeling more confused than before...

I have a crystal clear vision of exactly what I want and what I don't, but I'm still struggling to figure out how to clear the hurdles standing in my way..👎

hmm... I've got like, a million different versions of how my life plays out:
- Finish college, move out, live with my boyfriend, blah blah... maybe have kids one day, who knows...
- Finish college, get my own place, and if the boyfriend leaves, just find someone else and do the same thing...
- Finish college, move out, and if that guy doesn't work out either, I'll just date whoever catches my eye, travel the world, party, live a little, and eventually have kids with whoever happens to be around...
- Ultimately, I'd love to just disappear into the woods somewhere, paint, write poetry, play video games online, maybe scare some kids on the street and brag about my amazing life...

Honestly, I just want to mess around and do absolutely nothing productive. 👋

edit: hmm 🤣 wait, I guess I am doing that right now 😍 but what I actually mean is I want my hobbies to become a meaningful part of my life, rather than just being tucked away under some "hobbies" label. I need to work, sure, but why can't it be the stuff I actually love doing?

Is it possible to revive this thread? I noticed it’s been pretty quiet for a while now...

For whatever years I have left, my only real ambition is to see myself and my family stay healthy.
Once you lose that, you’ve lost everything.

Is it a matter of constructing elaborate plans—identifying with some specific archetype, projecting oneself into a hypothetical scenario, or perhaps adhering to a rigid set of values you're desperately trying to manifest? Or maybe it’s just a reaction to a current, undesirable reality that you're clawing your way out of... or perhaps an emotional fixation on a single, specific outcome?
I suppose my question is really about the underlying logic—what criteria do we even use when choosing "Option B" over "Option A"... why do we crave one thing over another, or how does the process of developing a concrete desire even begin?

God, I feel like I’ve just thrown three years of my life down the drain... effectively, I haven't moved an inch from where I started. It’s honestly jarring—it turns out I’m just spinning in smaller and smaller circles, like some kind of mentally unstable hamster on a wheel...

I feel like this ties right back into my whole thread, "What do you actually want to be, what do you want to own, and what do you want to do?" In that one, I laid out a few questions that—if you actually sit down and do the work—should help you nail down those answers.

Look, personally, I know exactly what I’m after, but let’s be real—it took me years of trial and error to finally get there.

Thanks, zoki 🙂—but just so we aren't repeating ourselves here, I'm going to lock this thread down. Everyone is more than welcome to head over to the main discussion at this link instead 😉
