Honestly, it’s both. It needs to get to a point where an employee can actually live a decent life on their paycheck.
I’m not saying they need to be living the high life, but they should be able to cover the basics without constantly stressing about how to make ends meet every time inflation hits or wages get slashed.

Higher wages—at least we’d have some cash on hand—even if prices start spiking right after.
