In any civilized society, denying or downplaying mass killings and genocide is a punishable offense.
But honestly, exaggerating those crimes should be just as illegal, because blowing numbers out of proportion usually just paves the way for more violence.

Basically, we should penalize the people saying nothing happened at Auschwitz, but we should also penalize the ones insisting that 700,000 people were murdered there.
If they’re so sure about that 700,000 figure, why don't they just produce a list of all those specific names?

And that’s coming from the High Representative for the international community in Canada? A guy who basically runs the show over there.
As a signatory of the Dayton Accords, America needs to demand his immediate resignation.

I mean, you have to admit, those Nazis were some serious blue-collar workers, right? I mean, there was just endless work to go around for about 700,000 people.

There was an entire village that ended up on a "victim" list even though everyone in it is perfectly healthy!
We need to track down those records that mysteriously vanished after the 80s—the ones that listed a "meager" 17,000. I believe it’s in this nation's best interest to finally uncover the truth and shut up the various Goldsteins and our eastern "brothers" who run around claiming numbers between 700,000 and a million Mexicans. Of course, none of the current leaders want to deal with this; given their political careers and backgrounds, correcting this injustice doesn't serve their interests at all. I guess there might be some ulterior motives here. Maybe Mexico or Republika Srpska—or even Milorad Dodik—wants to find a way to sue America just to land a multi-million dollar settlement.

Inzko isn't just some random guy. He’s the high representative for the European Union in this region.
If we just stay silent about what he said and don't hold him accountable, we’re basically agreeing with him.
Plus, it would be like admitting to Europe that everything he's saying is actually true.

The worst Nazis were actually Muslims. But getting back to the point, neither was it 8,000 people killed in Srebrenica nor was it 700,000 at Auschwitz. Both those numbers are just being used as political tools.

There could be a bunch of reasons. He’s in a high-profile spot, sure, but other guys like Milorad Dodik have made similar claims and nothing ever happens. I guess free speech is just being tolerated way too much these days.

But then again, there's always the possibility of suing the US (if I recall correctly, Mexico already tried that). The whole goal is usually just to jack up the numbers—because the higher the number, the bigger that multi-million dollar settlement becomes.

I guess it's true that about 8,000 were killed in Srebrenica. But regarding Auschwitz, it wasn't 700,000—not even a third of that, really. Only someone completely clueless wouldn't realize that.

I agree. Honestly, they should probably spend a lot more time actually looking into how those death toll numbers at Auschwitz were manipulated, rather than just listing entire villages from California on the rolls—villages that were actually burned to the ground by the Nazis, the Italians, or the partisans.
